Hopefully going to be ordering a 2024 Sahara really soon and am researching a wheel and tire package to add once it comes in. Looking at the Fuel Beast 18x9s but not sure what tires to consider. Any help with specifics or personal experiences with this exact wheel would be greatly appreciated!

To help you hopefully help me:
- I don't want to lift it as it'd make it harder for kids to get in and out
- I don't plan to offroad much if at all. I do like the idea of maybe some easy going trails but nothing rough.
- I don't want super gaudy wheels/tires but also dislike the rubber band look on jeeps
- comfort and lower road noise would be a higher priority
- would prefer to not have to mess with adjusting speedo or anything of that nature if possible

Sounds like any of the all terrains will suit your needs/wants in a 33" size. BFG KO2's, Falken Wildpeak at3, Cooper discoverer at3 to name a few. You're also gonna get pros and cons from everyone on all of them. I have bfg KO2's on my jl now and love them, been through, snow, rocky terrain and dirt with no issues. Had Falken Wildpeak on a gmc Canyon before, also does great.

Avoid the BFG KO2s, IMO. I've had a ton of BFG tires on vehicles in the past and they were fine. The stock MTs on my 2020 JLU Willys were just meh, but not bad. Prior to that, I had several sets of BFG ATs and MTs on a 1991 Bronco and a 2005 F250. The ones on my Bronco and 250 were outstanding, but that was 20+ years ago.

I just ordered a set of 5 315/70/75 for my Bronco and they're crap. Discount just flat couldn't get one of them balanced - I was in a hurry and about to leave for a cross country road trip, so I just told them to put it as my spare and that I'd deal with it later. I still have one other tire that won't balance, but it's not nearly as bad as the spare. I've also noticed what seems to just be a bad tire - there's a rhythmic "pulsation" that you can hear and feel that is speed dependent. I started searching online and found that the balance issue is common with the KO2s. I found a Tacoma board where a lot of the guys were discussing the exact problems I'm seeing.

The employee at Discount said that Falken AT3s are an outstanding tire and what he'd order were he in my shoes. That was after my online order had arrived at Discount and before they mounted the KO2s, so I may get a chance to try them if they'll honor their satisfaction guarantee and let me trade out.

Here's the thing with KO2s. The ones mounted on factory wheels are fine, no balance issues. But the ones that come from the tire stores are hell to get decently balanced. Every set I've bought from Discount, or elsewhere, just don't balance well. So, if you can find a set of 5 wheels and tires taken off a Rubicon, with 285/70R17 C rated tires, get those. They will fit your Sahara without any issues.

The best balanced tires I've ever had in recent years were Toyo Open Country AT IIs, hardly any weight on any one wheel and very smooth at highway speeds. If I had to buy tires today, those are the ones I'd get, except the updated AT III version.

I've had the Falken Wildpeak AT3W on my XJ, and they were also great tires. Nice semi aggressive look, but still relatively smooth and quiet.

If you want a wheel with a simple, clean design, also look at Method wheels. Watch what offset you get. they can make your wheels stick out too much, which looks kinda off on a non lifted Jeep. Your factory wheels are a 44 offset (same as +44), so stick with a wheel that has no more than an 18 (+18) offset. Going any more than that will start to push the tire beyond the edge of the fender. You can pull off a 12 (+12) offset, but that will push it just a little bit out depending on tire size choice. a 0 (zero) offset wheel will stick out past the fenders. As you get into the -numbers (negative offset) it gets worse. Those wheels are great for lifted Jeeps with large tires that need extra clearance.

A 9" wheel is a little wide for the tire sizes you'll be considering. Look at an 8-8.5" wide wheel. The factory wheel is 7.5" wide.

A hubcentric wheel is always going to be the one you want. It's specificaly designed to fit the vehicle. Lug centric wheels often have big plastic center covers and often time will have 10 lug holes so that they will fit many different vehicles. Avoid those.

In the 18" tires selection, you will have a very difficult time finding tires that are meatier than yours without them being in load range E. You prioritize ride and comfort, so avoid load range E. Same goes for 20" wheels.

Consider 17" wheels, there is a far better selection of wheels and tires. If it was my Jeep, a simple design wheel in about a 25 offset, and a 285/70R17 (32'7") load range C tire would be my choice. No lift will be needed and the tires are only an inch taller. If you want to keep the tires the same height as what you have, then look at 255/75R17 or 275/70R17, both being 32" tall, like the tires you have now. But there is really no noticeable height difference, maybe 1/4" overall, between them.

Given the wheel width, I might go with a P285/65R18 Falken Wildpeak A/T3W. It will stand the same height as the stock tire. Nice, aggressive off road look, but will perform well on the freeway, and transition well to gravel, off road scenarios.

If I can help, please let me know. I'll send a DM.

K02’s on my jeep and Raptor. No complaints.
The “balancing” issue could easily be fixed if companys put for effort into quality instead of 15 min in and out of the bay. Theres more stress of that computer saying your late getting the car out than just having the customer come back with issues. If they cant get it to balance take it to another machine or road-force balance it.

I agree. My KO2's are mounted on method 305s, @Discount Tire had no problem balancing them.

I have a 2020 Willys Sport with the OEM Firestone Destination M/T2 tires. They look great and work great in the snow, but are rather noisy. For years I had BFG K/O’s on my 98 Ram and they were super quiet. I may return to the BFG team when my Firestone’s wear out.

Really like the Toyo Open Country A/T III that I recent installed. Very nice tire!

Just have to mention the BFG AT KO2's.........ran several sets over the years. They are the best all-terrain tires I have ran and actually had two sets back to back on my previous truck. I've ran 4x4 vehicles with aftermarket tires on them for 30 years and the BFG's are the only tires I have bought more than one set of. Every other type of tire I have had always replaced with something else just looking for something better.

I have Yokohama Geolandar X-AT mounted on Dirty Life 9311 Enigma wheels....just shy of 9k trouble free miles on them so far. Mounted and balanced at the off road shop where I bought them, so far very even wear and no issues in the rain (no snow action here in South Texas).... I second The Last Cowboy's recommendation to look at a 17" wheel/tire set up, many more options out there....

How quiet and smooth are those? I've had Yokohamas before, but it's been a long time. Those that I had were excellent.

I love them so far, smoother and more quiet than the stock BFG's they replaced.....I have a SOT so you tend to hear more road noise than with a hard top.....my last set of Yokohamas lasted for just shy of 65k miles on my Highlander, which was one of the main reasons I opted for these....
