Putting tires on wifeys JLU Rubicon.

Going 37/12.50/17's.

Trying to decide between Maxxis RAZR MT's or Toyo Open Country MT's.

What says the peanut gallery??

Thanks, OB

The Razr are going to be a bumpy and loud ride. The Toyos will me smoother but are super heavy. Personally, I wouldn't choose either. I'm sure she would be happier with an AT tire or hybrid.

Big fan of the Maxxis, but they aren't the most quiet tires out there (the Maxxis Trepador's are quieter, and better off road, but wear out by 20k miles.) That said, unless she is going off road all the time, and not using it as a daily driver, I'd probably look in another direction.

Buy the tires elsewhere. The Milestar is quiet, smooth stays balanced, and does well in all conditions.

You can have them shipped directly to the tire shop of your choice.

Additionally, if you you have a local Discount Tire shop they can order them for you.

I am a big fan of the Cooper STT PRO tires. I have them in 37x12.5r17. They are quiet going down the road, ride smooth, wear good and handle off-roading well. They also have a strong side wall to help prevent flats.

I would go Toyo, Nitto, or Cooper.
I have Nitto's now and love them.
Toyo makes a 38in tire that will fit my 18 in wheel so they will be my next tire when I regear.

Thanks guys for the input. I looked through the tire thread someone linked and I think out of the 5 standouts it was hard to make a bad decision.

I came to the conclusion that she didn't need full blown mudders!

I ended up buying Nitto Ridge Grapplers in 37-12.50-17. They seem like a good hybrid mud-all terrain tire for her.

Now I need to figure out what I'm putting on my 2 door JK. I want something very aggressive on it because it's not a daily driver.
