Muffler delete question

I know, I know… I just pulled my muffler off for a few miles at different speeds just to hear the sound. Over all I like it but, there is a drone/rattle. My question is will it not seem as bad if I get the axle back delete pipe since it would no longer be dumping right by the storage tub and bouncing around under the body? I’m assuming that it would be way better, I would just like someone to confirm (balling on a budget). Also those exhaust gases are super hot! Lol I could barely put the muffler back on! Rear sway, frame even the tow hook was super hot! That’s why I’m assuming it dumping NOT directly under the body would be much better.

While I never ran mine without the delete pipe, with the delete pipe there is still a loud drone at 2500 rpm ish. I put on a resonator tip which help a little, but there is still some drone. I did it as I didn’t want that huge muffler hitting the rocks.

Try my fix. Has worked great for me the last 4 years. Delete pipe plus cherry bomb 6” glass pack.

It's not emissions related, but you may have a legal issue depending on noise ordinances.

Depends on the state. For Kansas (OPs) state it says:

Truth be told, a lot of Jeep mods are not 100% "legal" so muffler deletes with everything else is at the risk of the owner. Just lay off the throttle when driving past the po po.

No, the delete pipe won't eliminate the drone, though it may lessen it some. I tried 3 different exhaust options before I settled on one.

1. MBRP delete pipe
2. RedRock 4x4 Axle Back exhaust
3. Magnaflow Axle Back exhaust

#3 is the only one that didn't drone. #1 and 2 drove me batty after a while.

I put the mbrp on and it helped with an excess amount of noise bouncing around under the body tube. Still has the V6 drone. Also, idk if the resonator would count but, that’s one of those laws in Kansas nobody really pays attention to unless you’re a jerk to a cop or piss off your neighbors.

I’m glad I put on that high clearance exhaust. I was wheeling and got rear bumper pretty good, to the point one of my rear sensors got rashes and my rear tire rubbed and it did ride the hitch. If I would have bought a more expensive factory exhaust replacement it would have crunched it. So my official review is do the muffler deletes sound good, meh, but they are super practical off road.
