What bolt on system provides the most flex on a 2dr rubicon? Max tire size would be 37/38.

The bigger the tire you have the less flex you will get. The bigger the tire the higher the lift you will need to maintain max flex.

I'll second @autotragic also. No personal experience (yet), but @Metalcloak has a mid arm bolt on kit for the 2 door that I plan to go with after my warranty. Fingers crossed for a long arm version for the 2 door in the meantime. ??

Probably something from Metalcloak.

Thank you both for the recommendations. For the OP, our bolt on Game-Changer suspension systems continue to have the most flex of any production bolt on suspension system. It is also true that total flex includes factors like tire size and fenders.

We see all kinds of combinations using our Corner Travel Index (CTI) suspension testing trailer. https://cti.metalcloak.com for more info about CTI.

This video from Rock Krawler compares quite a few different joints. It's fairly straightforward in it's testing. An angle measurement to show the amount of misalignment, and a strain guage showing how much pressure needs to be applied to get it done.

A video from Metalcloak showing their measurements, but unfortunately it doesn't show how they measured it.

In the end you will likely be very happy with any of the options using a high flex rubber bushing system.

Note, while the joint flex and longevity is important, it's shock travel that really determines your flex potential.

You'll need a front driveshaft and outboard shock mounts over ~29" total extension out front.

You'll be hard pressed to find shocks on the market that will out flex even MC's base Rocksports.

It's always good to judge from both sides of the topic. Glad you provided the video I missed when checking out the channel.

Back to the OP as always use your best judgement and determine what suits you best. And remember that numbers are usually going to be skewed to some degree by the person who is conveying those numbers. Both of these manufacturers showed results that have their own product being empirically superior to the other ones available. I like both. I think that either one of them would probably suit what you want.

Thanks everyone for all of the info. 3.5 w/ 37/38 seems like the ideal set up without being too tall on stock wheel base. Would the difference from 2.5-3.5 require springs/ ds/ shocks?

everything will need to be replace to go from 2.5" to 3.5" except maybe the shocks if you got them in a 2-4" lift range and at 3.5" don't forget about driveshafts.

3.5" lift and 38x12.50's for reference, could have gone higher on the RTI but my GF said if a tire came off the ground while I spotted her up she would bail.

You can run the exact same setup with different spring heights if you plan it. If you wanted to you could swap springs based on how you feel that week.

A new driveshaft is required based on front extended shock length, not lift height. RK recommends max 29" extended on stock shaft. All of MC's shocks are longer when setup, that's why all their kits require driveshafts regardless of height.

Great info. Are you guys wheeling hard on 37/38 with stock axles? I’m east coast so not a ton of traction.

Not sure I can squeeze 38’s and 3.5 into my garage. Any idea on overall height with a hard top?
