why don't they re badge entire cars made in China? Chinese product used to be sold at 1000% margin, nowadays much less but 3x mark-up is achievable.

because it would destroy what little reputation we have left. those chinese vehicles are cheap because they start falling apart the day you buy them

At the rate Stellantis sales keep falling, management may not need to make the decision to cut ICE production. Consumers will make that decision for them.

Here in N.A., Stellantis has fallen from 4th largest automaker in 2021 to 6th largest in 2024 - Hyundai-Kia overtook Stellantis last year; American Honda overtook them this year.

ThV ings in Europe are not much better from what I hear.
You mean when inflation and interest rates skyrocket nobody is buying high end SUVs, full sized trucks, and muscle cars? Sales of budget cars go up? Must be Stellantis making bad decisions? The fact is the bread and butter of the brand has always been those markets that will be 1st hit when the economy faulters. Their latest big release was a massive, inefficient, luxury, six figure SUV. I'm a huge Jeep/ram/mopar fan and I would be hard pressed to name anything they currently build on the economy side. The Fiats? Maybe a compass if they still even make those? The focus on higher end and/or niche vehicles bit them hard. The perceived lack of quality is a forum myth in my experience, and even stupid rags like consumer reports have them middle of the pack there. Between the 2 JLs, my JT, and the Ram it replaced we are over 250k miles without a single warranty issue.

If anyone thinks moving from ICE to EV is going to save our planet or us from extinction that’s primitive thinking….the planet just like all of us has a beginning and end thats just fact. I guess dinosaur farts created the last ice age had nothing to do with the earths aging process🧐

Totally makes sense if you understand that they simply don't want to actually sell anything. At least not in the US.

Look at Chrysler and Dodge. There is only one Chrysler vehicle remaining (the Pacifica) and once the final Durangos are gone and until they ramp up production of the new Charger only one Dodge vehicle (the Hornet). How does it make sense to have 2 separate brands with one model each?

Stellantis should just sell off Jeep, Ram, Chrysler, and Dodge. Probably Maserati too. Focus on their core competency which is making generic microcars for the European market under brands like Fiat, Citroen, and Peugeot.

I mean, why not? GM, Ford, and others are already doing it, cars built in China, and sold in the US, thousands and thousands of them already on US roads. Patriotism/nationalism only goes so far when you're trying to make or save a buck, right?
