I don’t think so, it’s an all in one install, and you’d have to figure out what powers just the 4 pin.
Got it, thanks. I thought you could just wire something to the tail lights. Looks like I'll have to wait for third party options.

You can try this:

This shows you how to install a JK harness on a JL.

Finally got the actual Mopar OEM JL hitch installed. Straight forward as many others have mentioned.

Retired but working with benefits.
Just reading stuff and came across this thread. For anyone still needing a harness and only a 4 pin I used e-trailer's harness. Much much simpler to install than the Mopar kit. :)

p.s. Thanks to the OP for excellent info on the Mopar install.

So a bit of an update. My install need for the hitch and harness was cancelled, so I haven’t had a chance to make sure everything was functioning until today.

Before I went to pick up my new trailer, I figured I get out my test light and check the 7 pin connector to make sure all was working. While I had power to the 12v pin, I wasn’t getting power on any of the turn signals, running lights, etc.

I pulled part the left tail light and the yellow wire that was added during the install was getting power. I pulled apart the right tail light and checked the wires into the module that is added during the install and noticed that the main power line was not seated properly. Pulled it all apart and got it out back together. Tested again and all was working!

Picked up my trailer and the lights worked perfectly! A relief.

@mergedown - I finally had mine installed by the dealer. But just as an FYI, they flashed the ECU as part of the install. When I asked why, because I had not read where that was required, they said that the ECU will not know that the system is now equipped with the trailering package and that it was part of the required installation. Also, they said that now it’s part of the overall build sheet. As in, if I were to get a new printout of the window sticker, it would be printed on it...not as factory installed, but a dealer installed option and would carry the same warranty as the rest of the vehicle. The system reflash is actually printed on my worksheet/ticket from them. Just thought I’d let ya know, in case you wanted to look into it.

Thanks! I’m aware of the flash. It activates the anti-sway feature, which can also be done with the Tazer.

Has anyone used this? Looks to be the same type connection as the one for the UK used to be. If so it' exactly what I've been waiting for

First of all...thank you for the write up and photos! I am using this as well as the factory instructions but am stuck. I cannot for the life of me get the front to back red power wire into the harness. I can get it started but it doesn't seem to go in far enough to get locked in with the yellow clip on the harness.

Anyone run into this problem and what did you do to overcome it?

I know we talked via PM, but I wanted to make sure others saw my response.

I too had a bit of a hard time, but here’s what I did. First, I made sure the yellow clip was fully retracted. I then pushed in the wire as far as I could, and then used a small screwdriver to work it down the rest of the way. It goes in further than you think, but you’ll know when it’s in when you can slide the yellow clip back and it holds the wire in place.

Because I was initially trying to force in the wire with the yellow clip in place, I did slightly bend the connector, so I carefully straightened it back out and then had no issues.

Haha. That’s exactly where i got stuck today! Thanks Mergedown for the help via PM as well.

Jeremy, did you get it yet? This is what you’re talking about right? I guess the small screw driver will be the trick!

...and i concur. The hardest part was the fishing of the wire through the firewall grommet. And of course this red wire insertion is proving to be a jerk step. The instructions are only slightly more intuitive than IKEA instructions.
