Appears to be genuine. If you reference my post from back in january (here.) the filter I pulled out looked like it had been in there damn near the life of the vehicle up to my point of ownership. Hard to really know for certain, but regardless you can see the stamping on top as well as the plastic color. When I purchased my new filter, I did the same thing, amazon original oem blah blah. It looked virtually identical to what you've got there. I've been running it now for roughly 2500 miles and haven't seen anything alarming or suspicious that would make me second guess it.

Edit: found another photo of the top. It’s not an EXACT match in terms of stamping, but it’s pretty damn close to what you’ve got. I suspect the stamp has changed in the couple of years since whenever the hell this filter was installed.

I see Parker on the filter, probably from Parker/Racor, big into marine and truck filters. but they don’t use strictly USA filters either.

Idk if there's really a fool proof way to guarantee the quality of much these days. So many damn knockoffs out there that it's almost worth it to just visit the dealer and skip the potential of getting screwed. Given what I know about Ecoguard's oil filters, I'm tempted to give their fuel filter a shot. If it's anything like their oil filter, it should be an improvement over OEM's filtration.

I do, however, remember that the OEM filters come in loose plastic bagging like is shown (like mine did). The plastic wrap stuff that's rigid and vacuum sealed that breaks apart with force is usually an indicator that it came from a knock off vender of some kind. There's a few posts on various ecodiesel boards (usually ebay purchases) that show the plastic wrap being an obvious clue.

Amazon, it’s listed as “Genuine Mopar Filter Kit 68436631AA
$62.00
I’m just wondering if it’s the real deal due to the one I replaced was grey in color and the photo on the box is gray.
You got ripped off!!!

I've been buying this guy for the last 30,000 miles. I'm on my third one. They fit perfectly and they work just fine. Not sure why Amazon is listing them as not compatible when in the title it even says for the 3.0 EcoDiesel.

Thats probably the same $12 one I currently have in the Jeep!
My original point of this all was, why was the original one in my Jeep AND the photo on the Mopar filter box grey but all the replacement’s are white?

This is what I replaced my original with two weeks ago, looked the same and seemed built well except that it was white not the grey colored original, so I bought the Mopar brand right away in case the $12 one failed, only to find that it was also white not grey, there is no difference that I could see, so maybe I’ll return the $60 one and trade for five of those $12 ones.

You possibly could call your dealer and ask if they've seen white ones or only the gray.

Most likely to illustrate that there's filter material there (white probably looked like $hit in the original marketing design of the box). I wouldn't pay a ton of attention to box coloring/photos if I'm honest. The reason the one in your jeep was grey is the same reason mine came out in the state it did. Diesel fuel is inherently crude even after all of it's refinement. When you have something like white filter media exposed to it long enough, it's gonna turn darker in color than it originally was.

Here, take a look at this: click me
IDParts has a full removal and install video for the genuine mopar fuel filter on the gen 2 ram ecodiesel and supplies genuine mopar parts so their photos are legit.
This video also shows the genuine mopar fuel filter next to it's original box.

As @SargeDiesel suggested, if you're truly that nervous about it, call your dealer and ask. Otherwise in my book, you're definitely golden.

If you want to be technical, all of the Mopar filters and including the whole Mopar oil filter assembly is all made in China. UFI Is a French based company, who has manufacturing plants in China, India, Poland and a few other countries.

I'll give you a good guess where your headlight assembly is manufactured!

Well , I guess what’s the point of spending $60 on a Mopar one that’s made in China when we can spend $15 on a aftermarket one that’s Made in China!?
Every single aux battery we replaced from like 21-late 2022 had "made in china" stickered on the side.

Now they're made in Malaysia. Most FCA vehicles are like 70% mexico these days

Makes sense, basically there

Now I know why mine needed to be replaced in 2 years!

Here they are $18 Korop and $60 Mopar.
only thing I noticed is the pleading seams tighter on the Korop filter and the Mopar is ever so slightly taller.

Does the Korop have a micron rating?

Nothing on the box stating microns, but nothing on the Mopar box either?
Meets or exceeds OEM quality standards with 6 month warranty on the website.

Does anyone know what color the Mopar fuel filter is?
I just replaced my original with an aftermarket one last week, when I took out the original filter it was colored gray, I replaced it with a $15 aftermarket one that was white, I immediately ordered a Mopar one just in case this aftermarket one failed, I just received the Mopar one and the box was opened with a white one, the box even shows a gray one!
Did I get scammed??

No worries; the one pictured is 100% genuine MoPar.

I own a 2022 RAM 5500 Cab & Chassis. It has two fuel filters, an engine mounted one and a chassis mounted fuel filter.

The chassis mounted fuel filter my truck uses is the same filter. The 2019 & newer RAM 2500’s, 3500’s, 4500’s and 5500’s use the same one.

One way I know the filter is genuine is the laser etched information on the filter, and Parker / RACOR does supply them to MoPar.

I’ve not purchased many filters from Amazon as of lately due to so much crapppp being FAKE.

Nowadays……I buy from Geno’s Garage or www.dieselfiltersonline.com

I won’t use any of the junk filters that are available on Amazon or eBay. Spending a few dollars more today on proper filtration is gonna be better than spending much more money on injectors, CP3 / CP4 on down the road…..IMO.
