Exactly my take on it. Oil, fuel and air filters are not the items to try and cheap out on. I’d rather know I’ve got MOPAR or Fleetguard genuine filters and not have to have issues if something failed and warranty won’t cover the damages. No worries; the one pictured is 100% genuine MoPar.
I own a 2022 RAM 5500 Cab & Chassis. It has two fuel filters, an engine mounted one and a chassis mounted fuel filter.
The chassis mounted fuel filter my truck uses is the same filter. The 2019 & newer RAM 2500’s, 3500’s, 4500’s and 5500’s use the same one.
One way I know the filter is genuine is the laser etched information on the filter, and Parker / RACOR does supply them to MoPar.
I’ve not purchased many filters from Amazon as of lately due to so much crapppp being FAKE.
Nowadays……I buy from Geno’s Garage or www.dieselfiltersonline.com
I won’t use any of the junk filters that are available on Amazon or eBay. Spending a few dollars more today on proper filtration is gonna be better than spending much more money on injectors, CP3 / CP4 on down the road…..IMO.
It is nice that the Ram HD’s/Cummins share the chassis filter, a shareable spare on the shelf.
