What do you mean by high dynamic load?

When you get a roof rack, often times they give you the maximum weight limit in static load conditions. I.e. a stationary vehicle. The dynamic load limit is always significantly lower.
Usually about 50% or more. It basically means the load limit while driving as it needs handle the inertia of the mass in all axes.
An example would be the Gobi rack.

• 150kg dynamic load
• 400kg static load

A factory top can be converted to modular with a little fiberglass work. Here's one on a JK 2dr but the same could be done for a JL/JLU with one of the sides removed (and a slider window installed in the side BTW):

Modular parts removed. This one also has pop-up skylights in the Freedom Panels and skylights in the roof panel:

Parts are easy to store, here's the rear panel + hatch under a single bed:

With all panels installed, it looks just like an unmodified factory top.

I like the concept, have been toying with this idea for a few months. There is a lot of “stuff” involved in the design. (although I think Jeep will over think it).
4 piece deign (back part) would be great option. Just make it an all on or all off thing, just like it is now.

I was reading that same article yesterday. Looks like a pretty cool feature. If I didn't already have my heart set on a future purchase of that Safari top, I would totally buy this!

This could easily be done by utilizing a feature that Jeep is largely unfamiliar with: quality parts.

Jeep could easily make (on the JLU) 4 piece hard top. The two freedom panels up front. A one piece panel that covers the rear seats. And then you have the 6 bolts holding on the rear piece BUT because you have that rear seat removable panel now taking the entire top off can truly be a one person job. And you get to keep your flip up rear window. Bring it to market Jeep! It wouldn’t be that hard.
