Got mine from 4WP, they said it was backordered, but somehow it showed up at my house 10 days after i placed the order. The order online still said processing and never updated with a tracking number. So basically I got lucky.
Nice! Wonder if they price match…

Went ahead and got these Suparee roll bar bags to try out. I haven't packed them yet, but thinking I'll put all my recovery gear and tools in here to start. I bet all of that will fit in the driver side. On the passenger side I'll fill it with camping/hunting supplies. An initial inventory I am thinking is: sunscreen, bug spray, foldable shovel, gloves, TP, extra game bags, a few knives, rags, maybe some fire starters, rope.... then we'll see ow much room is left. Might take a while for me to gather all that stuff (I'll buy new as opposed to use what I have lying around).

EDIT: I have a whole bag that I call my "cool guy bag".... it has GPS, radios, extra batteries, headsets, jumpstarter, some more knives, NOAA radio, more fire starters... thinking I should keep those in the separate bag under the back seat where it currently sits.

I HAVE THE POWER!!!!!

So i know this isn't really a Jeep mod, but it's going to take my off-roading and camping to a new level. Just got the GoalZero Yeti 500X, along with a Nomad 50 solar panel. That's step 1. Step 2 arrives in a couple days... a SetPower PT45 12v fridge.

I'll post a review when I get the fridge, I want to test how long the battery will last running the fridge in "eco mode" without any solar. My guess is around 45 hours straight, based on other internet reviews. My sincere hope is that with the solar panel i'll be able to recharge at a rate fast enough to have indefinite power for the fridge on camping trips. And this is AZ, so solar power is pretty abundant here lol. Worst case is I need to buy a second solar panel and chain them, but average draw from the fridge is only supposed to be around 7-10 watts (maybe 12 based on some reviews). I have it sitting at 7 watts draw right now with 2 phones and a headset plugged (extra power consumption because its using the built-in AC inverter) and it says it has 47 hours of life left at 87% charge. The solar panel "should" charge me up at 35 watts/hour minimum, so I should have plenty of power for both the fridge and some more accessories.

I'm freaking stoked!

Next question.... do I build in a fridge slide or not....

I'm saving up for some baja designs, but in the meantime I still need light. So we'll see how good the $25 amazon specials work!

It's been a while since I've had any status updates thanks to a hernia and the resulting surgery. Good now tho, and I finally was able to install the skids that showed up at my door months ago!

@Metalcloak forgot to add the spacers in the hardware, but their customer service was awesome and they got me squared away with the missing parts, even though the order was delivered over 6 months ago. Great company!

The past few months the mods slowed on the JL so I could focus on something else...

Turtleback Expedition Shell. The "Shell" part means its literally just the box, and I have to build it all from there. I already built in a bunch of electrical. 100 Ah Lithium Iron Phosphate battery, 20 Amp solar charge controller, Noco Genius 10 for shore power. Wired some temporary lights while I am planning out a drawer system. It's amazing, I love having all the camping gear just ready to go at a moments notice. No more playing Tetris for an hour to load everything in a vehicle to take my boys camping! Had it out 3 times in the past 2 months. Also took it out in the snow for a true shakedown run.

Did finally cross another milestone this last week. 37s!! Went with STT Pros. Wrapped around some KMC Chase in Candy Red.
Next, tossed the old fenders and threw on the KBD Urethane fenders. Love the look, especially with the Amazon special inner fender liners with the American flag!

Didn't take long for me to damage my new wheels. I had to redeem myself on the Charouleau Gap trail. This trail was even worse than the last time I went on it, but the jeep is way more built this time, and luckily the two hardest obstacles were much more passable this time around thanks to a local offroad club cleaning up the trail.

Made a youtube video of the trail ride. Long video, but I'm working on my editing skills. The JKU that ran with me was more built, you could tell he had an easier time. Taller lift, long arm kit. Both on 37s tho.

Had to test her pulling the turtleback trailer. Went to an amazing spot in the southern AZ mountains. Got to sleep next to a creek that was flowing pretty good... not a common thing out here!

EDIT: It was a dog in the interstate. 37s with 4.56 gears, I was able to keep it below 4500 rpm as long as I kept it below 70, but it lived in 5th and 6th gears, and there are some inclines where it just doesn't matter. On the dirt roads in the mountain is where it shined, rightfully so.

Had to take it back to Chiva Falls to hit the Three Feathers obstacle on 37s. The obstacle has 3 main lines to take, hence the name. A little braver on the 37s, I took a line up it I never had before, success! As usual, the video doesn't do it justice, but here it is anyway...

More trailer upgrades. These Mictuning lights were originally bought for the Bronco, but when we tested them they didn't quite have the capability that the wife wanted. So on the turtleback they went!
