Zero disrespect to anyone with a moab, I like them - but am I missing why they're so popular versus Rubicons? Sticker price on my Rubicon with every option possible except for leather, painted matching top (still have hard top), and painted fender flares is about what a moab goes for with smaller tires and no lockers.

Again, no disrespect just trying to understand why people are choosing moabs over rubicons considering how close the pricing is.
Mainly for the full time 4wd. It's the best thing ever if you're on the snow belt and have to go between blacktop and snow throughout your commute. Another advantage is not having to stop, then turn on lockers when you're only a tiny bit stuck. With BLD, you can get going again in a split second. MOAB is pretty much perfect for everything besides extreme rock crawling.

It really does save a lot of hassle for those who want the look of a Rubicon but the benefits of a Sahara Select Trac

Got it - completely understand, at end of day I'm not doing any rock crawling with my Rubicon - only went with it because I've had Rubicons for so many years that it's hard for me to go with any other model.

“No disrespect. I just think you’re wrong for making a decision that you made. And you’re stupid. But no respect.”

Go away, troll...

Cool. Continue copying and pasting content from Jeep catalogs thinking you're cool educating people. I'll be over in the show & tell section continuing my build.

I wanted the full time AWD and LSD so I knew I was getting a Sahara. With the other options I was going to be basically paying the same as the Moab anyway and you got some goodies with it. Unless I wanted to custom order I wasn’t finding one on the lot with those options anyway. I was also looking for an in stock one so I could do test drives to check for steering issues and inspect welds.

Essentially if you are looking for a fully loaded Sahara the Moab is a great option IMO.

What does the start up screen show? Does it say Sahara or Moab? Any links to videos or pictures of it?

Thanks. I was hoping it said Moab but I guess it makes sense to just say Wrangler. I wonder if a future programmer like a Tazer could put a custom name in there?

Based on the low production numbers of the Moab, doesn’t make sense to program graphics specific to the Moab. By using generic Wrangler ones, they can reuse the same graphics for the next special edition. No idea whether an aftermarket programmer would change this. Seems like a lot of effort for something that most owners barely notice. But I’ve been wrong before...

Sorry if you saw this in the welcome thread but I figured I’d post it here to to add to the Moab thread. Just picked it up today, now to just decide what to do about tires for the winter. I usually run winter tires (Blizzaks) in my other cars but maybe I’ll go with the k02. Decisions.

BFG KO2 hands down best all around tires. I have them on my H2 as well. Pricey, but safety comes first in Chicago’s crazy winter

You can use the Tazer JL to set it to Rubicon or Sahara if you'd like, but you can't add custom graphics.
