I replaced my batteries in my Genesis system recently with (2) Full River 750 and they were fully charged before installing, they have been in a few months with no issues and test fine using my battery tester.

I had to take an emergency trip a few days ago and travel from the midwest to the east coast, approx 800 miles. My 2018 has right at 90k miles on it and all up to date on needed maintance, well I had to stop for fuel several times and on ocassion the total odometer mileage reading just above the shifer display on the EVIC was blank and not showing total miles, it didn't go blank on every restart and it also displayed a clutch meaasge and I has the automotive so what kind of gremlin causes this and how to address to correct.

You may need your cluster reflashed. There is a TSB out there for the issue. I am assuming you still have the 2018, as do I. I had the same issue. I was having issues with things not appearing in the cluster screen, milage showing all 9's or not at all, outside temp at 800 degrees, clutch press when I have an automatic, etc.

Attempt/ask for/request the reflash. Not sure if it can be done outside the dealer. I had mine done at dealer when handling a warranty recall issue at the same time, so the diag was all done at the same time. Hate using the dealer for anything, but I did in that instance.

it’s odd it’s never down this the entire time I’ve owned it so I’m curious why it would show up after 7 years and 90k miles

The answer to that one is beyond me. I bought mine used and had to take care of the issue then, at 40k miles.

If you end up with any further issues or have problems with the screen going out, etc.., give United Radio a call for those. Will save you massively from the dealer. I suspect the two issues are not related, but my cluster screen went out about 2 or 3 months ago, long after the reflash as Im at 81k miles now. UR replaced my cluster screen and back in business, but they can help with other issues with your actual cluster as well instead of the info displayed. I understand those may be 2 different systems possibly.

When I get back home in a few weeks I may get connected to JSCAN and check for any codes and restart all ECUS modules to see if a reboot takes care of it but if the odometer dropping out occasionally is all that happens I’m not going to worry about it

I would not ignore it, but it is your ride. This is a couple takes of mine. I have an auto and it displayed clutch.

I just want out and got in and on first start all was normal so o started it let it run a few minutes and then shut it off and checked all fuses to ensure they were seated and all were so then I got back in and it displayed press clutch to start and odometer total was gone so I shut it off and waited 10 mins and checked again and it displayed press brake to start and odometer was back 🤣🤣

Sounds like the green connector failed in the glove box. It’s part of the canbus system

Are you running a Tazer or security bypass module for something like Flashcal? Sometimes those devices don't wake up as quickly as the EVIC and will cause glitches such as these.

I do have a security bypass module and also have a start/Stop eliminator module and use JSCAN but they have been all installed several years

Same here. It's entirely possible there's an issue with the CANBUS connector, but these modules supposedly can cause the same glitches. I have the same issue, but I have yet to test it.

There's been two occasions where my screen didn't come on at all during an entire drive, but that was a couple years ago and it hasn't come back since.

When I get back home in a few weeks I will likely use JSCAN to check for any codes and then restart all ECU’s then after the restart pull the bypass module and Start/Stop Eliminator and put that part all back to stock and see if the issues get resolved.
