Midland MXT 575 install in 2024 model

I have a 2024 Rubicon and looking over options for head unit location for the Midland. I've looked a couple threads here and on Youtube but all seem to be pre24 model and for the 275. From what I've seen, more options since the 275 is smaller. I think it'll end up under the seat since the larger size and minor changes in the 24 (parts in locations that were previously empty) but wondering where you've put yours on 24 models. Beside the pax seat is another location, just prefer it out the way if possible. Thanks all and safe travels.

I have a mxt105 and cmm mount and only leave it in when actually jeeping with others that have radios.

Good option. Easy enough to install when desired. I also did a test fit with the bracket. With the bracket, it looks like it will fit under the glovebox on the flat section of the bottom of the interior fan?. It sits flush and hangs down enough to not be in the way of anything else. Just may have to move a small interior light. Strong velcro and should work out.

The accessory/cigarette lighters are a poor electrical source for radio electronic devices on the newer model vehicles. You should always connect these types of devices directly to either an Aux circuit and if you don't have the Aux circuits, directly to a battery + source and the device ground circuit to a factory chassis grounding point.

Not only your radio can perform poorly also the radio could cause problems with the entire CAN Buss Electrical Network and affect the performance of the various modules which could result into severe damage with very expensive power train components.

In addition you should check to make sure that your antenna mount has a continuity ground to a body panel or a vehicle ground with the antenna disconnected from the radio.

I put mine on the MPS overhead panel, easy wiring running along the windshield frame for the power and antenna and its up and out of the way all the time

I have been using the cig plug in since like 2012 and never had an issue. I actually asked Midland and they said 100% no problem. not sure how it would be damage the canbus if it did yikes. so there are 4 of use that run the same radios and run our antennas the same way and we have incredible range, 3 of us live in the same area 6 to 12 miles apart and we can be in our driveways and talk to each other. kind of blows me away but it works for us. I know people cringe but so far so good.

This is where my 275 is mounted - just below the glove box. Mounted the unit "clip" with some zip ties to the rail under the glove box. I don't see why the 575 wouldn't fit there as well. The unit has never bothered me or my wife when sitting in the front passenger seat. Power is straight from the battery with a 10 amp fuse so I can use the radio without the Jeep needing to be on.

That antenna may have a good continuity ground to the chassis grounding system. The vehicle body shouldn't have any affect on your signal or cause any reflection on a transmitting signal. What are your VSWRs?

I did the same thing for a temporary antenna while waiting for my glass mount antenna to arrive.
