Installed Metalcloak full width rear bumper. Install wasn’t bad but a couple quick notes.
Instructions didn’t include parts list. At each step it would say provided part, but there was quite a few nuts and bolts without a part number to identify it.
At one point instructions showed different “button bolts” that were not included. Video showed correct bolt as well as the next series of instructions in the PDF. Nothing bad but had to scramble to look for parts that were actually different.
Step FF shows you tighten and level the bumper, but no way to do it because instructions had you already install the end caps which blocked access to the bolts.
Back up sensor clips on plastic bumper are not the same as on the metal bumper and cannot be reused. The included clips were in one of the end cap boxes separate from the main bumper box and parts. Wasted some time in figuring this out.
If you purchase the license plate swivel relocation bracket, you should wire the license plate light prior to putting the bumper on. This isn’t in the bumper instructions or the bracket instructions, but if you wait to wire it, it would be near impossible.
All in all customer service with metalcloak was good. Spoke with them several times prior to the bumper arriving and had all the parts we needed. It would be great if @Metalcloak had a longer video that spent a little more time covering each step but in the end I managed to figure everything out. I am very satisfied with the quality and look, it’s a great bumper.
Update: Spare tire won’t fit back on. Bumper sticks out too far. Will call Metalcloak in the morning to see if there is a solution?
