Cavfab full width rear Crawler bumper ??

July 4th and I'm installing the full width rear Crawler bumper.
Frame to Frame mounting measures 40" exactly. Bumper mounting tab surfaces measure 40.375".
Was this bumper supposed to ship with shims? or am I to stack washers?
Anyone else run into this?

Thanks, but I think I was sent the JK version. Visually, they are damn near identical.

just had it powder coated

That sucks, it could just be a manufacturing error. That seems to be looking like what it is. Whoever welded that on just welded it a little too far out.

Probably not going to get reimbursed for powder coating it. It's definitely a good idea to always do a install before you send anything off to powder coating or painting it yourself. Anything I put on my Wrangler before I paint it I do a bolt up and just make sure it fits. I had that mistake early on with my Wrangler, spend 3 days painting and letting a part dry just to find out I needed a different part.

Cavfab is fabricating some shims for me. something is not right, though.
There is more to this. I will check back when I get my shims.

Hard pass on shims for me. I'd want a solid mounting point on something that could potentially see a lot of force. Why take that chance? If it was my own bumper I had made that would be one thing if I wanted to stack washers to get them mounted. Not something I paid money for.

I'm sure they will make it right for you tho.

i mean to me this is an easy fix, they give you a new bumper, shims on a bumper with crap hardware to hold it on? nice

Cavfab sent shims. I haven't tried remounting the bumper yet. Good luck with yours.

Just mounted mine not too long ago and didn't have this issue. Sorry OP but I think you got thrown a curve ball. ?‍
