Every other day I love it... and the opposite day I'm underwhelmed. Messed with the EQ today and I am back to loving it. I feel every morning when I jump in, it take a few songs to warm up. Bass sounds anemic until i go in and just hook up the perfect tune app to the bluetooth. It's almost like the settings are not sticking from the app. Does that make sense?
The AppleMusic source quality I use is so spotty it really wouldn't matter if I spent another $1K or so for nicer primary drivers. Think I'm good as-is, even with the source fluctuations.

The PerfectTune should set the DSR1 immediately to whatever changes you make. Maybe save a preset on your phone/tablet once happy and see if it is losing your settings between listenings/drivings. Mine stays as set here.

So, with the DSR-1... do you completely remove the factory amplifier? and if so, is there room to mount the DSR-1 in it's place?

No. You plug it into the factory amp. There is room. See the opening post.

I saw the first post, but then also read the DSR-1 installation manual and read...

STEP 1
• Remove the factory amplifier (refer to wire chart for
amplifier location).
• Insert the resistor pack and configure the 2 pin connectors
on the aCH4 T-harness as shown in the wiring diagram.
Note 1:
If the resistor pack is not included, use four 500 ohm
resistors, Put each resistor across the wires of the white,
gray, green, and purple 2 pin connectors.

If you are purchasing the items listed in the 1st post you DO NOT need to do that. It's all plug and play without resistors or that nonsense. Check out my post for my experience as well for a little bit more of insight that may help. If you need help just post. I have to pay forward the help Hal did for me!

Anyone getting an alternator whine with this install? This just started recently> I checked the ground and moved it as well to test but still getting it. I hear it as I accelerate and decelerate.

Thats weird. Have you added any other electronics/lights to the Jeep? Where is the amp lead grounded? Mine is on the passenger "A" pillar grounding stud for reference, behind the kick panel on the floor.

Nothing added but my ground is the one nearest the middle console on the passenger side. I should’ve taken a pic.

Mine is sitting on top of the inverter-cold weather module with plenty of room to spare for the steering column.

There are body grounds here you can use... it's where David/MBQ recommended for the kit FYI. Mine is silent, no alternator/ground feedback that I can hear.

I used that same ground and no issues here.

What I did notice it’s not apparent until I jack the gains up past 12. More prominent at 2 o’clock.

Just to let everyone know, I moved the ground to where Hal's is and still had the whirring. Callled MB Quart and talked to David. We isolated it to the soundbar and I ran an extra ground from the negative on the battery to the same grounding screw that the kit was grounded to...still the same,. They are sending me new wiring from the sound bar to the amp. Hopefully this fixes it.

Does anyone know how to make the chimes louder with the DSR1? I just realized I have no volume on the backup sensors.
