You may be able to take a cap with gasket, thats larger than the brake resi cap, and drill a hole in it to run the mighty vac off of. Its an odd size, and you may crack the cap drilling it, lol.

Maybe a canning jar lid insert would seal, lmao
The only thing I would have less chance of having in my house than a rubber stopper is probably a canning jar. 🤣

Lol, well then any plastic lid with a foam gasket would maybe work. I'd take a peek in the recycling.

Ok I found some stuff to use to create a vacuum. It is holding pressure so that mean no leaks in the system.

I'll try this a few times and try the pedal. If that's no good then I'm gonna guess that the dealer tech damaged the master cylinder seal when he pressurized the system with an air compressor.

I have to admit I had to read that a few times to understand but now I gotcha.

For a second my mind was here though:

I'm doing 113 kitchens in a high rise in NYC and the main GC asked me how I was going to suspend the cabinets since there is no metal backing behind the sheetrock and I just sent him your video! With a "let me know if that works for you"

So a bit of a weird turn in the Jeep saga. I'm currently awaiting possible mandatory evac orders due to the fires burning in the Los Angeles area. Around 4AM this morning I decided if there was a chance of losing my house I didn't want to also lose the Jeep. I also wanted to be able to load up my belongings. So I just bled the crap out of it. I found a piece of 2x4 and used it to hold down the pedal. I did that for about 2 hours while also taking breaks to load the Jeep up.

I got the pedal back and stopped for now. I keep getting puffs of air coming out of the hose connected to the bleeder. It seems crazy to still have air in there after 2 hours but who knows. As long as I have a pedal I can drive away so I'm leaving it at that.

I plan on trying a dry vacuum again (doing that overnight did nothing) but I don't want to risk anything now in case I have to jump in and just go.

Good luck. Stay safe.

I was watching the videos ACT made and he showed how much play the oem pressure plate and clutch itself had, I wonder if that play helps the discs release.

Hmmm....on second thought leaving the Jeep there might be a positive!!

A twin disc should need twice the room compared to a single. Overall, this situation is pretty dumb.

Im literally shopping for a third vehicle, both to keep the miles down on my Jeep, and because until this gets resolved I cant trust the Jeep to do any of the stuff I bought it specifically for.

Overall, odds are extremely thin that I'd be buying a new Jeep again. Unless theres tremendous reform on all levels.

I had that thought when it wasn't working and sitting in my garage. That's why I was determined at 4AM to get it going. I needed something to load all my stuff into. Otherwise I don't think I'd be able to take much with me. Necessity is the mother of invention and all....

I feel like at some point this year I'm going to end up with a backup vehicle just for this reason. Not having a functioning car for 2 months just hasn't been realistic.

If I do ever end up with another Jeep I know for sure I won't be buying it at the dealer that had mine. Just a bunch of incompetent dummies over there.
