This is why my next Jeep will be a TJR. That said my 2023 TJR and my 2024 TJR have been near perfect (the only issue was the TPMS on my 2024 and turns out the Mech in the ship thought he could adjust the code and on the 4th or 5th time I forced them to install all in sensors TPMS.
'23 and '24 TJR?

Jeep has tuned out all of the feel that us veterans have always relied on. The clutch is two stage and the pedal/throw out bearing linkage is too soft. As others have pointed out the light flywheel is no help either. Add this to a quiet engine with low vibration that idles at 500RPM and I stalled the dang thing four times between the dealership and my house on the first day.

For anyone interested in diving deeper, ACT has a great video series on what is wrong with the Jeep clutch and the system that operates it. It is a series of short videos that answers a lot of questions. They are sponsors and Jeep owners. They also sell a pedal return spring that helps improve feel. Takes 5 min to install and only costs 8 bucks plus shipping. https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/fo...testing-by-advanced-clutch-technology.111416/

I am really relieved to read about others having trouble. I thought I was beginning to get some sort of debilitating, extremely, unfortunate neurological/muscular impairment...

In my small, one man humble opinion, the root cause of this entire fiasco is the use of a very light flywheel. With low rotational mass on the business end of the engine it is really easy to stall if the clutch pedal / gas pedal dance is not done just right. I've been driving manual transmission vehicles from my teenage years on up and I stalled my '22 JL in the first month of ownership more times than the sum total of all the manuals I've driven in my life. I'm used to it now, but it was a bit of a learning experience at first. Without a heavier flywheel I suspect that a lot of drivers tend to rev out the engine more, slip the clutch more, and heat up the clutch. That said, a heavier flywheel probably contributes towards a lover CAFE rating for the vehicle, so here we are.
I really appreciate posts like this because my JL was my first manual vehicle; I had it delivered to my house and then had to teach myself how to drive manual based on Youtube tutorials. I spent a long time assuming I was just incredibly inept (which might be the case, but for other reasons at least).

I’ve read a few conspiracy-esque theories that Jeep is putting in minimal efforts to drive people away from manual trans and further bring the take rate down so they can discontinue the manual and only have one transmission. A bit Far fetched, but who knows. Kuniskis seemed to hate manuals and he’s retiring 6/1

Mine is supposed to go in on Tues. I’m on the fence if I just cancel, or actually go through with it. For reference: 2019 JLUR on 37’s, daily driver, wheeling once a month on average.

What is wrong is that over the post 100 years the common clutch not progressed much...of course this begs the question as to WHY?

and the answer IS...wait for it!

If it ain't BROKE, don't FIX IT!

Now you know what its broke, because Jeep tried to FIX IT!

'23 and '24 TJR?
Hi all, I’m new to this forum so not sure if I’m in the right thread. I have a 2020 JL unlimited Rubicon. After a bit of complaining II was able to get the dealership to do the pressure plate replacement. The next day while driving, going from 3 to 4 or 3 down to 2 there was a clicking noise in the shifter box. Went back to dealer and had tech do raod test with me. He agreed there was a distinct click coming from box. Dealership stated this was not related to the recall work they did the prior day (yeah right!) They replaced the box and while driving the next day same issue occurred. Anyone else out there have a similar issue or idea what might be causing the noise. Tired of going back to dealership. Thanks for any info/guidance.
