Hey guys, I'm going to be regearing my JLU Sahara with M186 up front and M220 (LSD) in the rear. The revolution set that I have has the pinion depth etched into the end of the pinion gear (3.625 front & 4.528 rear), but I can't find anywhere what nominal is?? I have yet to pull the stock axles apart to see what is etched on those, but if it is just +/-/0 I won't know where to start with adding or removing shims. Thanks in advance for the help!

Start with the factory shim thickness. Install and test. Disassemble, adjust, and reassemble as needed.

There is enough variance in how the housing is machined that there is no nominal spec. Same gears in 2 different housings can need different shims to be lined up right.

Best bet is to start with what was installed with stock gears. You shouldn't be off by very much so small adjustments should be all that you need.
