It is not fair to the dealership to ask for a TSB fix to be applied in order to correct a problem that isn’t addressed in the TSB. I want to continue to maintain a good relationship with my dealer’s service department ... the above stated discrepancy does not help!
Assuming JeepCares didn’t make a typo... Maybe my first statement was unclear... unless you have dealer access to TSBs, you will have to wait until someone uploads the most recent version. It took ~ 3 weeks for the latest revision (sept 7) of that TSB to be posted.

You can either call your dealer and have them check to see if it’s been updated, or wait until it’s posted. Either way, it shouldn’t be too long of a wait.

Having crossed the Mojave desert Barstow to Laughlin and back to Barstow with the ac going full bore in temps ranging from 95-108 and traveling 10-15 mph for 70-80 miles offroad with no overheating issues. I am thrilled the fan is doing it's job so good!
Exactly. My jeeps have all spent hundreds of days on trails moving at 0-3 mph. For a vehicle to essentially be running at 1,000-2,500 rpms for 10-16 hours with no air movement through the radiator, it has to have a really stout fan to keep it cool. I love that this JL seems to have a great cooking system.

@JeepCares you receive a lot of criticism on this forum (including a little from me) when things aren’t right. We know it’s not your fault, but you’re the public face of the company so frustrations may be directed toward you. However I want to say THANK YOU for bringing this information into this thread and helping with the issue. I appreciate you bringing this to the forum’s attention.

I had TSB 18-041-18 Rev A applied in September (PCM flash update). Does rev B need to be applied since Rev A doesn't mention the fan noise and my fan is still loud? Or is the flash update the same and just the bulletin info was updated?

Is this TSB about the blower fan for the the internal heating and cooling or the engine cooling fan? when the tsb says blower motor I assume it’s for heating and cooling jeep, not the fan that sounds like an f18.

Good catch. I didn’t notice that. “Blower fan” means the climate control fan in the cabin and not the engine/transmission cooling fan in the engine compartment. At least to my understanding of the terms.

Classic Vinyl! Always a preset favorite channel on my radios!! :like:
Love that channel too.
But yes JL electric fan is loud, my 2000 Cherokee was also a jet when electric fan kicked on, I don't remember my TJ or YJ being that loud, but may have been.
Loud cooling fan is much better than overheating, jeeps have always needed a shit ton of air to keep them cool

I'm confused. The thread says loud cooling fan, but Jeep Cares referenced a TSB that mentions loud blower fan. Why would there be a TSB on the internal blower fan and not the external AC fan that is so loud you can't even hear the internal blower fan? Maybe the person who wrote the TSB meant the external AC fan?

There’s certainly some confusion. I believe that this TSB will quiet the AC blower fan and not the engine cooling fan. Perhaps there have been complaints about how loud the AC fan is when set to max, in addition to complaints about the loud engine cooling fan? Maybe Jeep Cares is mixed up regarding which one this TSB addresses? Maybe I am?

My 2019 isn’t built yet so hopefully it’ll be quieter than the 2018s.

True, but addressing the AC blower fan when you can't even hear it over the external AC engine cooling fan doesn't make much sense. The lawn crew's leaf blower is quieter than the engine fan on a JL. lol The other day I was at an intersection / red light. A pedestrian was waiting for the walk light, looked over at me, put his fingers in his ears and mouthed "That is F_cking loud".

You ain’t wrong. It’s embarassingly loud. I guess maybe it’s just another one of those “Jeep things” that we have to get used to or get over. A couple of folks commented that they actually like that it’s so loud. Whatever. Whatever Jeep’s putting in the Kool-Aid must be really potent.

Mine will be parked beside my wife’s Lexus with a 3.5L V6 that’s so quiet when it idles that it’s very difficult to even tell that it’s running unless the hood is up, even with the AC on. Yet it makes more HP and torque than the Pentastar. But it can’t go off-road...

ESS is also embarrassing. First, the loud fan draws attention, then it stalls. Great. The other good thing of a loud fan... We don't have to worry about this issue that Prius had. lol

Quiet hybrid and electric cars must make noise under new U.S. safety rule
https://www.pbs.org/newshour/nation/quiet-hybrid-electric-cars-must-make-noise-new-u-s-safety-rule

The new rule could help prevent about 2,400 pedestrian injuries a year once all hybrids on the road are equipped to make noise, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

I'm one of those people! Jeep aint putting anything in the Kool-Aid... I just love loud stuff lol. I've grown up around cars, working on them with my dad, going to NHRA when I was an adolescent (can't get any louder than that), so I like to hear loud turbos, I like loud exhausts (that are actually functional) and the loud fan on my Jeep is awesome! I absolutely love it, :involve: and I do see it as a safety precaution.

Quiet vehicles and I, do not get along, as the noise is part of the driving experience, IMO. The only time I like quiet is when I'm doing yoga or when I'm sleep! :cwl:
