While I love my 2012 JK it has always leaked, like took it back to the dealership five times, and in the end they said "Its a Jeep... it leaks". I cant leave it outside during a rainstorm or it floods in the passenger floorboard. Now I just keep the carpet out and the drain plug pulled. The radio has started to go. The transmission skips out of 3rd gear sometimes...

So now I am looking to get a 2024 JL.

Id like to order a 2024 Unlimited Sport 4-door (possibly Sport S, although 3K for electronic windows and doors is a bit much).

Some things I need to know:
1) How do I build out my jeep to know both MSRP and Invoice
2) Where to find out about current rebates, including loyalty rebates.
3) Are there any really strong reputable dealers in NC, or upper SC that I can get a full "all in" price for.
4) How far (%) under Invoice should I believe is reasonable.

This any any other tips and tricks that others have used recently with the dealers would be fantastic. Also I have heard about the strike affecting delivery time, and was wondering if this is over or not.

Thank you all in advance for your kindness and welcoming me to the JL forums.

Welcome! The 4dr Sport actually gets A/C, but not power windows/locks. (Updated based on confirmation from Bill_P below)

SHOPPING:
  1. I recommend that you start with the online Jeep.com build tool. It's pretty buggy, but it's at least a good starting point if you're not 100% sure what you want yet.
    1. The Jeep trim pricing is pretty fickle. Once you determine which features you want, I'd recommend attempting to build the exact same Jeep (features-wise) in a trim below, your default trim, and the trim above. Especially if you're doing any options, it's likely/possible that the trim above might be the same price or cheaper once you factor in options.
  2. Once you have your features/trim locked in, you can find the order guides here: https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/fo...l-jlu-interactive-pricing-spreadsheet.112880/
  3. Use Ratbert's spreadsheet here to find dealers: https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/fo...ealers-below-invoice-spreadsheet.95841/unread
    1. My recommendation is that you pick 2-4 dealers from Ratbert's list, and find a couple of local dealers (if none on his list are local). Email the same build inquiry to all of them, and whoever comes back with the best price wins your business.
    2. You're remarkably close to Gupton, just outside of Nashville. Probably hundreds of us on this forum bought there and it was an amazing experience. Highly recommended (plus you get a short road trip home in your new toy through beautiful country).

Depending on where in NC, there are several dealers offering below invoice on orders. There are two near me in central VA and then there is Gupton in Tennessee. Lots of people deal with them. I believe the strike is over, but there is now a backlog so you may be waiting a bit longer for your order to build.

Welcome! I *believe* that the 4dr Sport actually gets A/C and power windows/locks, but I could be mistaken. I'm in a fully loaded Sahara, so definitely not the expert. :)

The 4-door sport gets AC, but no power. It has manual windows, locks, and mirrors. Unless they changed that on the '24. My '23 doesn't have any of those new fangled power thingamabobs

Got it, thank you for the correction! Updated above.

My first car had manual windows, locks, and mirrors and I'll never own a car without power windows/locks again. So miserable.

I didn't really mind. If I was going for luxury those things would matter more, but for something I planned on banging around they were all just more to break. But I have to admit, I do miss power windows and locks sometimes.

I do take my soft top down regularly. And I would miss the convince. Im just worried about the leaks. Also road noise on long trips is a pain, but not a common occurence. Daily driving its fine. Any thoughts on JL soft top construction? Does it leak like the old JKs?

I would look at the build configurator here to get the codes for what you want, then contact a dealer to see if those things are available. Some things get pulled without notice and using a web article, or even Jeeps configuration page, won't be accurate.

My '18 has a soft top and I have never noticed any leaks from it. My nephew bought a '15 and it leaked so bad they did a buyback because they never could find it. Road noise can be a problem but, again, in my '18 running BFG KO2's it was never unbearable. I'm actually thinking about getting a soft top to run on my '23 in the summer and running the hard top in the winter. The soft top is more convenient in the summer because you can just throw it open when you want and don't have to worry about getting flooded out if a storm pops up.

I have had the 2024 soft top for 2+ months now, no issues and I don't think it's particularly noisy on the highway.
