By the way.... how did the dealer know you run/ran with a Tazer JL ?
I was (perhaps foolishly) upfront about it. Okay, maybe not perhaps.

Okay, so here's a low-tech idea.

I'm trying to accomplish three things:
  1. adjust for 35" tires + defeat TPMS
  2. not have to plug/unplug from the SGW device EVER again (medival torture device)
  3. keep the dealer off my back by having the SGW connected as it was delivered

Currently, I have a Tazer hanging on the end of a Tazer extension cable, left in place 100% of the time, and the SGW female slots remain "empty". The latter seems to be the rub with the dealership when trying to use the OBD scan.

Why couldn't I: simply order a 2nd Tazer extension cable to be plugged into SGW female slots? Then I only physically plug the Tazer in to make changes, then unmarry it, and stow it in a drawer. Finally, I plug the two dangling (within easy reach) Tazer extension cables together to basically return the under dash to stock; albeit with two extension cords daisy-chained between the factory SGW cabling.

In order to be able to remove the Tazer I will be limited to the "vehicle setting" only; that would rule out the ESS defeat but still enable tire size and TPMS defeat.

I know it sounds a little Rube Goldberg, but would this low tech solution get me there? I'd still get bloody knuckles plugging in the 2nd extension cable for the first time, but then I'd never have to monkey with the SGW again. I'd tuck the volume of the extension cables under dash.

??????????
