JScan can do all that except 3 and 7. It can do 7 but it shows the symbol on the EVIC.
With # 7, it also can mess with remote start and cause other issues.

JSCAN can do #3..
Disable Weather Alerts:
ADAPTATION
---> Radio user settings --> SDAR Travel Link Feature Present On/Off--> Target Value = Deactivated

RB,
Other than the wind warnings, storm warnings, etc, what features would I lose by deactivating "SDAR Travel Link"?

Any and all that comes with Travel Link... i.e. traffic, weather, fuel prices, sports scores & schedules, movie listings. Things that you can get just as easy elsewhere..

I haven't used those features since first getting the Jeep in 2018-19, and that was just to browse it. Aren't those part of a charged subscription service? So, the remnant, non-subscribed program continues to give weather warnings?

After the subscription ends those you should not see the Weather Alerts and other Travel Link stuff..

What you may still get though after subscription ends is this https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/fo...g-caution-tow-truck-ahead.107876/post-2243027

Anyway.............. I have had my Travel Link disabled for years so, to be honest I cannot answer and back up my answers with actual experience..

The hardest part is getting to the wires and then putting them back.
And...that's why I want to get out of the SGW business. I have big hands and my daughter helps with the tight spaces, but I don't want to wear out my welcome with my unpaid helper. :)

[That, or stock up on Band-aids before I start]

My Tazer Lite has worked great, especially since I got it on the site marketplace from a member for $125 :) The ESS feature is worth every penny, and when I get my Rubicon transfer case it's a simple change for that new (and awesome) 4Lo ratio!

Went out to the jeep and browsed the apps. Travel Link is still active and provides traffic, gas prices, movies, sports, weather, etc., even though I am not subscribed to Sirius XM. I verified no SXM service.

Hmmmm, curious if others are seeing the same or you are a rare bird lets say... I can't test as I have TravelLink disabled. Again, you'd think TravelLink would be history after the subscription ended..

That's what I figured as well. Looks like we get 5 years of Travel Link as part of new Jeep purchases. Mine should end in Dec of this year.

Found this

He can use the dedicated security gateway bypass in conjunction with the security gateway extension cable he owns..

I should mention.... while he has a Tazer JL in his possession, he can use that Tazer JL as his security gateway bypass... Just place/install the unmarried Tazer JL, use it as a bypass... do JSCAN settings and then remove the Tazer JL when done..
@Rhinebeck, just so I understand what you are saying, because at best I'm a wannabe mechanic on this kind of stuff.

Right now I have the Zautomotive extension cable running (permanently) between the SGW and the Tazer (to facilitate Tazer removal for dealer visits).

I would:
  • Use an approved (by JScan) OBD reader to enable the use of a the JScan software which I've downloaded to my PC.
  • Leave the Tazer (unmarried) connected to the SGW while performing the JScan process [not quite sure I understand the reason for this part]
  • Use the JScan, via Bluetooth to my new OBD reader, to make the tire size + TPMS changes.
  • Disconnect Tazer from SGW and then reinstall the OEM cables (that were originally connected) back onto the SGW module. In other words, just like I originally found it configured.
  • Sell Tazer and extension cables.
Am I even close to what you're suggesting?

As an aside, I ordered the Vgate reader at 11pm last night and it was at my door when I got up this morning - hasn't purchasing really changed since we were kids?

Brad, I thought that I was the only forum member with the Lite version. I just didn't need the capabilities of the Mini.

you can get a jscan setup working for about 60 usd, including jscan license itself.

tpms and seatbelt disable is right there.

for me, my tire size calibration is extremely easy, I just have someone ride with me with a gps speedometer, change tire size and check again. I set my actual speed to 1% slower than dash readout.
