If you want to spec out a vehicle exactly how you want it, then put your order in now. The longer you wait, the longer you may have to wait. Based on VINs thus far, there have been over 90k orders placed to-date. That means probably about 1/2 the orders for the entire model year based on past production totals.

If you’re not as particular about what model or options, start searching dealer inventories. My dealer currently shows they have 10 available, at least on their website. These range from Sports, Saharas, and a couple Rubicons. There are many dealers in my area & they all show vehicles in their inventory.
You'll also likely pay significantly more for a Jeep off the lot. But at least you wouldn't have an extended wait (assuming they really have inventory).

Ordered my 4xe in august delivered late October. I was shocked it wasn’t longer. Delays on electronics are crazy. I deal in kitchens and if you want a dishwasher it’s going to be a year. Miele won’t even take orders. We’ve been telling people to order their appliances asap, even before the final kitchen layout is done. Usually we tell them a couple weeks before install.

Received my 2022 JLUR three weeks ago. Pretty much every option was ordered. I did not try to figure out what would slow the build and just ordered it the way I wanted it.

Searching the dealers in my area, most are at MSRP, while some are adding ADM. One could also apply the affiliate pricing to get 1% under invoice. Affiliate pricing applies to retail stock as well as sold orders.

The chip shortage and supply chain issues are just symptoms of a global trade war. Don’t expect it to get better anytime soon now that Russia is full on invading Ukraine.

Hey everyone, I'm doing what research I can before ordering and one thing I noticed was it seems like some people are waiting a long time for the Jeeps and some people are getting theirs within 2 months? 2 people I've spoken to have had their Jeeps ordered back in November and they say they haven't even started to be built. Does anyone have any idea as to why this might be? I've heard that there are some items on back order, but does anyone know any specific parts/packages that would hold up an order? I know I have to be patient, but putting in an order and waiting 4 months just to be told it hasn't even been started on would be infuriating. Any insight would be really helpful.
Production didnt start until mid to late December, so no one has really been waiting more than two months.

Ordered mine on 12/20, shipped 2/3.

Its everywhere. i ordered a squaredrop camper and Ive been waiting for 12 months. I have at least 2 months more to go.

Parts and labor shortages is what they told me. A lot of it is people just leaving the factories for better jobs. It is nuts. Where my wife works (not a factory lol but software company) they raised all the engineers salaries by 30% so they dont leave. Ive never seen anything like this. Until these slows corporations dont raise their salaries, we will have a slow supply chain. I work at a massive corporation and they just gave the good ol 3% raise. People are leaving like it is a freaking exodus. I cant even imagine the shitshow thats about to hit.

Aint that right Kryten? Jking.

No, because there was (or shouldn’t have been) any expectation that the vehicle would be built before 12/16. If one ordered in early October and come late November was thinking, “man I’ve been waiting for 8 weeks & this still hasn’t been built” well that’s just ignorant.

It's ignorant to order a 2021 in September and think that they've been waiting since September?

Yep. My master bathroom has been out of commission for 8 months now. We started remodeling end of last may, waited 4 months for a new bath tub to arrive that we were told was in stock. When it finally arrived it was cracked. Went up the chain and still had to wait another 3 months for a replacement. Then getting back on the schedule with our contractor.

But those are first world problems, the same as waiting for a new $50k+ vehicle to show up.

Is that what I said? Personally, I would never order a vehicle at the very tail end of the model year considering ordering banks for 2022 opened Oct 8th. The likelihood of the order not being fulfilled is much greater and then the order has to be resubmitted as a new ‘22 order.

By definition, that would be ignorant (lacking knowledge or understanding of the process).

Sure no one has really been waiting more than two months from production but it still doesn't explain why lots of orders placed in December and January were shipped before orders placed in October and November. In my case, if you account for the Christmas factory closure, mine was built in the first two weeks of production and it's sat there for 7 weeks waiting to ship. Meanwhile many built after mine have shipped to the same area that mine is supposed to be going. If they told me the reason and assured me that it would eventually be delivered I would be fine with waiting.

We're in crazy times right now but with no information I'm beginning to think they lost it and have no idea it's sitting there waiting to ship. I'm sure there are many logical reasons. They would probably have less pissed off people if they would just be honest about it. If they had any real competition at all I'm sure people wouldn't put up with their BS. This forum and every Wrangler forum I go to is full of people drooling over Broncos. If Ford hadn't botched their launch so badly Jeep would probably be in a bit of trouble. They better hope they can get their shit together before Ford gets theirs together.

At least you were told why you're waiting. Honestly I think they're doing a pretty good job producing Jeeps at the rate that they are all things considered. I just wish there was some way to get information about why certain ones seem to be forgotten. I'm sure there's a computer system that lists exactly where every Jeep they build is at all times. All they have to do is make that information available to their customer support reps and allow them to share it.

Where I work we've had more people leave in the last two months than we have in the last 10 years. It's crazy. Since so many companies are allowing people to work from home a lot of people are finding jobs based in other cities and just working from home. If my job wasn't so cushy I would probably be looking too. I don't think we'll ever get back to normal. The cat is out of the bag. There's no reason for many people to have to go to an office every day and companies could probably save a ton of money by cutting out real estate costs.
