A handful of people mentioned that I may be over inflated. The side of the tire says max 80psi cold. According to my dash display, all 4 tires are at 36psi..

Unfortunately.. I'm the frozen food manager at a competing grocery store to HEB, so I have no love for HEB as they don't pay the bills or give me discounts, and the Blue Bell vendors piss me off on the regular with their stocking habits and poor communications. I also used to live next door to a Blue Bell distribution facility and had their stupid WiFi handheld dongles clogging the local devices window when trying to connect WiFi stuff to my network.

To be fair, HEB is a decent store, and Blue Bell makes some delicious ice cream when it isn't contaminated with listeria.
You’re clearly not Texas material, and your free ride to California will be arriving shortly. Lol. I’m actually a Texas transplant but I’ve lived here for my adult life and both sides of my family are from here. I’ve drank the Kool Aid. I turned down a job offer from Blue Bell in 2014 because I didn’t want to relocate to Brenham. Right before their listeria problem. I work in health and safety. Dodged a bullet. ?

That may be slightly high, but not bad. What I think some folks aren’t considering is that not all tire treads are designed to be flat all the way across from shoulder to shoulder. Some have a slight crown naturally and the tread in the shoulder area won’t wear down like the center unless the tire is under inflated.

I think pricing policy is within the purview of the business, not the prospective customer.
Any time I've ever visited a DT I always ask at the end if there is anything they can do to help the final cost. Similar to buying a car, at least used to. Wouldn't it be great if we the customer told the seller what the price was?

Yeah 36psi is generally considered a bit high, it looks good for mpg but can cause weird wear. At least on the stock tires they showed beat contact at 32psi cold, my bfg km3s have best full tread contact at around 30-31 cold.

max tire pressure isn’t really something you need to pay attention to on a tire unless you’re filling them up to haul something, which is more a consideration on bigger trucks.

Why don’t you just spit in their face while you’re at it?

Nothing more insulting than this kind of behavior.

These are 37x12.5, right? That's way high. I'd be running 23-24 psi. Look at the load charts -- when you get to 37x12.5R17, at 25 psi they're rated to carry 2,150 pounds per tire, which is already way more than the Jeep weighs. Larger volume, less pressure to carry the same load.

80 psi is just the max the tire can withstand. If you're not carrying 4,000 pounds or whatever per tire, you don't inflate that high.

At least by me if you don't buy the tires from them they charge an excessive amount to mount & balance. I've gotten the "oh you're bringing the tires in, it'll be $220" until I show them the receipt for the tires from Discount Tire Direct, then it drops to $80.
I don't have an issue if there are over sized tire fees , but that should be stated at the time prior to the work being done not after. I am especially not ok with them performing unauthorized work and removing OEM parts (TPMS) to replace with generic parts .

I picked up a nail on a high $, high mileage Michelin between ordering and delivery of my Wrangler. They wouldn’t fix it because it was older than their rules allowed, let alone free. If they are this rigid on rules I suspect 3.15/70’s on my stock 7.5 in rims also not done. I have already found another shop at the loss of nationwide guarantee.

Was at America's Tire (west coast branch of discount tire) and they had at least 5 of that exact machine...not sure why you think they don't have them?
Vegas has 18 discount tire stores and over a million population. Been living here for 18 years and DT customer certificate insurance buyer ever since I moved here. They (the Vegas stores) don’t have “road force“ machines they all have spin balance machines. Maybe yesterday they purchased “road force” machines for every store in the city but I haven’t seen one the last time I went to DT.

I have never seen a DT tire balancer with this steel drum that applies a load to the spinning tire like in the picture.

Road force balancing is far superior to the regular spin balancing machine. I did find one auto shop that can road force balance for the cost of $20 per tire every time you want the service and it takes an hour minimum for the process on all 4 tires.

@Discount Tire Can you tell me the address of a DT store near zip code 89113 that can provide road force balancing.

Thanks

“I think your work is worth less and you should make less money doing it.” Basically.
LOL!

DT is a national, tire retailer (IMO: A very good and service oriented one) not a one-man shop that does custom work. They advertise deals all the time and have a lowest price guarantee. There's no reason not to ask them what's the best they can do pricewise. They'll tell you whether they can or can't. It's neither insulting nor assaulting (i.e., "spitting in their face") to take them at their word and politely ask the question.

In their own words: "At Discount Tire, we work hard to deliver the lowest price on all tires and wheels we carry. If you find a lower price that we’ve missed, we’d like to know. We’ll beat the competition’s lower, installed price, and will work to offer you the best deal. We will not be undersold.* "

At their initiative, they retroactively sold her road hazard coverage and replaced the tire without charge, ...
Good service for sure but the sales rep did that because they make money from the sale of the warranty but nothing from just replacing the tire for whatever it costs. It's not completely philanthropic. @Discount Tire , would this type of philanrthropy be company policy? Or did your employee cost you money just to make a buck on the warranty?
