If the race is short enough and you don't need to go above 45MPH, how would starting in 3rd low range work?My lockers stay locked at speeds above 15 mph. I lock both, the front and back while drag racing on the sand dunes. 4h, locked I rarely get beat by a non v8 jeep.
After 20 MPH in sand, do you need lockers? If the torque is evenly split, it doesn't seem like lockers would provide any advantage and a big disadvantage if you wanted to turn.
In the good old days with hubs, a fast shifting automatic transmission, 2.x low range transfer case, I never lost a drag race on pavement to a stick.
Once I get hubs for the Rubicon, on pavement, should I start in 3rd and manually shift?
