Because they bypass the sensor, so not a true fix.
You're not wrong, but some guys just hook them up to aux switches. Seems like a fix to me.

There’s no way they’re even pulling the sensors to inspect them. Even if they did I doubt they will know what they’re looking at.
the dealer tech won't look at it, they'll just dump the oil out for shipping (hazmat) it back to jeep. but jeep might tear it apart to look at the sensor, unless they've seen enough already.

They’re not replacing axles anymore, the replacement sensors are now available.

Not in my case. I told them to get the sensor and gave them the number and they called a week later and said I was getting a new axle. We’ll see what actually happens if I ever get my Jeep back from the dealer.

I got the new axle a couple of weeks ago. Just got a call from the dealer saying my sensor is in and do I want to make an appointment to have it installed. I told them the axle was replaced last month. They still wantEd to now if I wanted the sensor replaced. I jokingly asked if they could just give me the sensor and they said no.

Why am I not surprised. Pot that sensor and never worry about it again.

Hey all, so are the new sensors in the kit a new design from the originals?

So, kind of an update on this. I ended up slightly nicking a capacitor when I potted mine. It still works like OEM but every so often I would get a flashing light. So I ordered a new sensor. Almost $500 Canadian later it came today.

Well, I don't know if it's a screw up but they sent 5 in the box. Confirmed with parts guy and all is correct. I'll replace my bad one and keep a spare. So I'll have 3 spare sensors.

I'll do $200 US shipped US or Canada for each sensor if anyone is interested. PM. I'm Canadian so I can only use PayPal and for both our protection, please choose Business sale and I'll swallow the 2% fee. Canadians, we can do etransfer or PayPal.

I never had a new enough vehicle to have a warranty. But is it possible to keep the removed parts or at least buy it back? Assuming I could keep the axle at a reasonable price, I would happily allow them to replace it.

My rear sensor seems to have gave up the ghost a few days ago… Having trouble locating a dealer who can get me in and diagnose me while doing an oil change.

I’m going to sell my Jeep. Just don’t want to deal with the dealers ever again.

Turns out there is a reason for 5 being sent to me.

Very odd. I potted #5 so we will see if she works normal right off the bat
Ok, for continuity sake, before I got above message from parts guy, I had potted #5 yesterday. Threw it back in today and it's good to go. @chevymitchell knows about all this as well. Either way, I'm happy I don't need to explain to the wife why there is a weird flashing on the dash and locker switch. Lol.
