Jeep Wrangler JL lighting set up 1000027346

Front of my Jeep:
Diode Dynamics Elite Max Headlights
Baja Designs LP9 Pro
Baja Designs LP6 Pro
Baja Designs Squadron-R Pro

Rear of my Jeep:
Baja Designs S2 Pro
Diode Dynamics Hitch Mount

Aux Switch:
Diode Dynamics D-Switch

I love everything about all of these lights. Tons of light, totally customizable (headlights and both sets of BD LP's) and high quality. The D-Switch has options no other switch panel has and the trigger wires make certain functions totally integrated.

I wouldn't change a thing and with Baja Designs lights, you don't have to choose between white or amber as you can purchase amber rock guards/lenses and have the best of both worlds.

Looks great. 👍 how do you set up the diode dynamics switch? how much amp do all the lights combine use? Are you using the d switch in lieu of the auxiliary switches Or in combination with them?

KC led daylighters and Baja designs squadron pros. Plugged in directly to the auxiliary ports on my warn platinum winch and controlled with the warn remote. No hassles of dealing with wires through the engine compartment and firewall, no relays , no switches. I did place in line fuses though

The D-Switch sits in the engine compartment hardwired directly to the battery. There is switch panel that is hardwired to the D-Switch, however, while the majority (myself included) will run that switch panel into the Jeep interior to control the lighting, it is not necessary to do so. It can be left in the engine compartment if desired as you can connect wirelessly (via Bluetooth) to the controller from your phone and control everything through the app on your phone. Furthermore, the D-Switch works via Android Auto and you can just use your Jeep's screen.

It has (4) 30 Amp connections and (4) 15 Amp connections. It also has a 9th channel for backlights that is also rated up to 15 Amps. It can handle a maximum current of 125 Amps.

I do have the factory auxiliary switches and I am using 2 of the 4 (radio & winch). However, the ability to join multiple channels to a single button on the D-Switch is superior for lighting. Furthermore, the trigger wires allow customization that is just fun. For example, I have my high beams tied to one of the trigger wires, and then have the D-Switch setup to turn on all my front lighting if I actuate my high beams. The possibilities are somewhat endless and super easy to do. Wiring your auxiliary items into the D-Switch is super easy.

That's likely more information than you wanted, but I'm a fan and love it.

Sorry sometimes I’m nosy. Who is using your winch that needs to be reminded of its capacity?

LightForce HTX2s mounted to a factory steel bumper wing bolt. I also have Oracle Reverse Lights in the factory steel rear bumper.

They're all enabled with factory Aux Switch 3, then the LightForce LED flood ring is switched via the factory fog light button, the LightForce HID spot is switched via the high beam stalk, and the Oracle Reverse Lights are triggered by shifting the transmission to R.

Personally, I think amber is overrated/unnecessary/annoying.

I wouldn't do anything differently. Ditch and rock lights seem like a good idea, but in practice I don't think I've ever really wanted for them; I mostly use my lights while driving to (find) camp.

I went with Nacho 4" lights and control via the 4 Aux switches that are OEM on the Jeep. White lights up on the A Pillar and amber lights down low on the bumper. Amber is great in the snow, rain and dust. Never had amber lights on a vehicle before. They are a game changer in bad weather. What would I do differently? Install the Nacho switch system. The 4 Aux switches are not enough to take advantage of the multi-function capability of the Nacho lights. This is true for many other light manufacturers as well.

My Jeep had a set of LP6 and LP9 Baja Designs lights on the front. Once adjusted the light coverage was fantastic. The problem was, the fairlead mounts for the LP6 lights were too flimsy, and the light beam would bounce up and down when driving at a moderate speed off road. That was annoying enough that I tried three different fairlead mounts trying to stop the bouncing of the light beams. The last one was from Motobilt, and although it was better than the others, it still had the problem. I eventually removed the center LP6 lights.

The LP9 lights by themselves are still quite awesome. Combined with the factory LED headlights and fog lights I am happy with the current set up.
