Hello all,,

I am wondering what is available in regards to various sized LED lightbar mounting options for the front of the JL.. I don't want to do the hood, pillar or windshield mounting thing because I had that on my JK, it's kinda played out and I enjoy folding the windshield down when it's warm. I see Diode Dynamics came out with some nice Bracketry, however they are a bit expensive IMO, but probably of good quality.. Any other options people know of? Thanks :)

Just an FYI but I’m sure you probably already know this, the hood mounted RC 30” bar does not mount in the same spot on the JL as the JK did. It sits much lower and doesn’t stick out and up real high like the JK. It’s actually very recessed and agressive looking IMO. In other words it looks like it’s actually supposed to be there almost like it came factory.

The RC light bar does not let you fold the windshield down though.

No it does not but how often does a normal jeep owner do that? Not often, however, if that is something you plan on doing then clearly the hood mount or top mount LED bars are not in your future.

Thank you for the replies! I currently have the factory Metal bumpers..

I didn't do it on the JK because it was such a pain, but on an older CJ I used to have the Windshield was always down, loved it. That was a draw to the JL for me. While not as simple as the CJ, It's pretty easy and I plan in keeping it down during the warm months.

We make custom brackets and could easily fab some up for the factory metal bumpers free of charge when buying our LED bars. We have been doing that with the JK HR for quite a while. All we ask is for you to send us the measurement between the two mounting bolts on the bumper that you want to mount the light to, and which light bar you choose. The S series 12", or 20" are very popular options.

Check out our light bar options here
