Just tried to install this myself (first mistake) but I plugged it in and it won’t power on. Took it into an audio shop and they told me I tapped into the wires correctly and tested to make sure it was working so I’m kinda stumped. Could it be the ground wire or not connected properly to the battery? I also asked on the video what to do with the blue wire and he told me if I had a stock head unit, leave it alone.

Check your ground wire. I had the same issue with mine until I removed all the paint around the area where the wire makes contact. I found it needed to be raw metal. Once I removed the paint it powered right up.

I had issues finding a good ground for my amp. I think I used the same spot and it was hit and miss with it working.

Don’t wanna sand because I live next to the beach and don’t want rust, any other suggestion on where to ground it?

As others have said, it's probably your ground. That lug is entirely surrounded by painted surfaces. It's not making contact. Clean metal-metal contact is essential for any electrical system.
