KEY FOB NOT DETECTED

my 2022 Jeep Sarah Unlimited states when the doors are off, "KEY FOB NOT DETECTED" and you cant start jeep......You have to take key fob and use it to push the start button, is there a reason or this, didn't happened before when doors were off?

I believe its the Battery in the KEY FOB.....that might have been the issue

I had the same issue and replaced the FOB battery and didn't have any more problems.

funny though that issue started 2 years after I bought it new. I could have sworn those batteries would last 5 years?

yeah, well i had one replaced but not sure what one it was, so ill definitely mark key fobs this time around so I know!

If the problem persists after changing the key fob battery then it’s your aux battery starting to fail … or at least that was my experience…

Ignition is disabled. Hit the unlock on the FOB to enable and you should be fine.

You dont need to do that when doorless.

I have to. Maybe because I actually hit the lock on the FOB to lock the tailgate. If I don't hit the unlock I will get the same as everyone else with no FOB detected.

One time this happened, I was sitting under an airport radio antenna and cell phone array. Did the key fob thing but drove to dealer, tech asked if I was at airport...

Weird. Maybe a Gladiator thing? Because you can cover bed and make it secure or something.

It did it with my '21 Wrangler also. But there I was hitting the FOB lock to secure the rear door which covered the opening of the floor cargo compartment. The first time it happened my wife and I went in to eat at a restaurant and I thought someone was messing with it since it was sitting in the parking lot with no doors. After about 5 minutes of trying to start it, I hit the unlock as if the doors were on and I was entering the vehicle and it started right up. So I make sure to do it every time.

I legit have never seen that behaviour nor can I even recreate it. Lol. So weird. I run most of the summer with doors off.
