Could not start my Jeep today. Had to use the fob at the run button to start. Display then says "key fob has left the vehicle" even though it did not. Lock/Unlock/Start all work with the fob. Replaced fob with new battery still get "fob not detected". Tried second fob it works fine. Reprogram? If so can I do it? New fob time? Is it under the 3yr 36K warranty?

But everything else on the fob works just won't start, key fob not detected. Tried another battery same results. Still is under warranty luckily. This is the sixth warranty item i've had now since ownership (2 yrs).

Try using the fob itself on the start button Not your finger. I had the same issue before and the battery was fine.

That works. But I shouldn't have to do it that way 🤷‍♂️

It’s supposedly a known issue across all CDJR platforms.

If you take it to Jeep for reprogram take both fobs. When I got a new one for my GC they wanted the other one to program them together.
Also “they charge a lot to program them, I work Saturday, no big shots, I’ll take care of it”
I miss that service writer, that’s not the only time he took care of me.

I took it in to the stealership today. I will take both fobs thanks. They will take a look at it Monday. Said they need it for about 5 hours. Apparently have to go by the books and check antenna signal and other things even though I told them the other fob works as it should. Both have worked for the past 2 years until now. Will be covered under warranty :)

Stealership today confirmed said Fob was defective. Will take three days to get a new one. Asked to keep the old Fob, not happening said they need to return it to Jeep. Is covered by warranty.
