Hello guys, this is my first post

Been reading about Programmers and found about Jscan just before pulling the trigger for a Tazer mini. My main use would be to activate some stuff, reprogram tire size, and be able to activate lockers in 4hi.

So the real question is, is there anything on the Tazer that stands out, that Jscan can not do?

You get what you pay for. ZAuto has excellent support (I have used it), and a very large install based. I would not hack at my JL with an app, personally.

“Contact us on Facebook for help” is a great big NOPE from me.

Jscan does not currently enable lockers in 4Hi.

I use JScan. Does everything tazer does except turn off ESS. Customer service responds within 24 hours and really it’s usually within hours. Have had no issues at all with mine.

Go into demo mode and you can see everything it does.

Hi Everyone,

I'm going through this same debate.

I actually have the Tazer Mini. (I also have the front camera cable installed and connected to the display already.) I have not, however, married the Mini to the JL.

I have received some great advice, particularly from one member of this forum regarding both the Mini and the Jscan.

My initial need is to change the tire diameter for speedo, odo and shift point correction.

With the Mini, when I need to un-marry it for any service, I will lose the tire setting as it will revert back to stock.

Does the Jscan have a similar process before dealer visits? Are there any traces / breadcrumbs that indicate that the Jscan has been used to change the tire size? Or, will there just be a conflict between what FCA sees when they use their wiTech and what is on record for the JL?

In other words, will there be any way to tell what type of device was used to change the tire size?

(And, a related question. If I find a dealer who will reprogram the tire size for a price, if I take the Jeep to another dealer for service or warranty work, will the wiTech show the new tire size is correct, or will it also be different than what FCA shows in their records for the JL?)

Keeping the Security Gate Way plugged in is the main reason I probably won't use the Mini for its live features, at least not until I am out of warranty. If there's no real difference between the Mini and the Jscan in terms of the tire setting, I'll probably just use the Mini to set the tire size, remove it, and then reattach the GSW (using the jumper cable I purchased and installed already).

I appreciate any opinions.

Thanks,

Jeff

No. Unless a dealer has a specific reason to look at your tire size, they won't.
