i need to do a brake bleed this weekend so i figured i'd run the ABS with JSCAN, i currently have a Tazer installed and would need to remove it, so let me get this correct..

1. unmarry the tazer
2. disconnect & remove the tazer (might as well firmware update it since i haven't in a year or so)
2b. run sleep cycles with nothing installed ???
3. hook up the bluetooth adapter to the extension bypass cables that i had the tazer hooked up to for the JSCAN
4. pair bluetooth, run jscan, run abs, bleed brakes... make NO changes with jscan
5. power off jeep
6. just unplug the bluetooth adapter ???
7. reinstall Tazer, remarry tazer
8. run sleep cycles ?

for some reason i'm not really grasping the sleep cycle and swapping device thing, i'm pretty sure i'm just over-thinking it. any input on device switching would be great.

I did this a few weeks ago. You do not need to remove the Tazer. Unmarry, use JSCAN, then remarry the Tazer. It acts as a security bypass so you don't need another cable.
I didn't do a bunch of sleep cycles either, it was pretty straightforward when I did it.

thanks guys, maybe i'm wrong about how the bypass cables are installed, it's been a while since i installed it and i don't remember quite how they're hooked up. i just remember my hand being sliced to shit when i initially installed the tazer so i got the extensions.

i'll read your post rhinebeck, i'm sure it's got whatever information i'm looking for and hopefully it makes more sense to me then.

Why do you need to unmarry the Tazer to use Jscan to do a brake bleed? What happens if you dont?
