Anybody ever switch the factory 5 inch screen to the 7 inch screen on the jl?
Any idea if it’s simple enough to do it yourself or is a dealer needed to install and program it?

I know there's a thread in here somewhere about this but I can't for the life of me find it. Here's what I got out of it (all credit to the members in the original thread)

Simple answer... Yes you can and it's quite easy if you don't care about the volume control/on and off. Here's my recap

To remove the radio, follow this youtube video:

Next you'll need to buy:
- Bezel for the 7' screen - Product ID: 6AB53TX7AA
- 7' screen - Product ID: 68297545AE
- Trim removers (don't risk using your screw driver
- I used MoparParts but others have used Tascaparts

It's all plug and play and that video is great! Just need the parts really

Simple change downside:
- You will have no dial control for the volume, only your steering wheel
- That means no on and off for the radio
- Your dial temperature controls will still work fine

If you choose to switch the whole control dial panel out it's been said on the other thread you need multiple connectors etc. I'm not about to go through all of that just to be able to change the volume with a dial!

Hope that helps. I wish I could find that original thread!
