Went for a long ride in safari mode - it was super windy and enjoyed this better than sun rider mode (just cause of the wind), but I did find I was getting exhaust in cab every so often, especially when passing vehicles on single lane highway. Day warmed up later and put top down all the way, love it so much. Esp with my sun cover installed - I got an Alien one.

My day consisted of all hwy driving so I threw in some earplugs too, made it very enjoyable and actually made the music clearer without having to blast the tunes.
Very cool! I love it man!

Anybody have and issues with premium soft top front windshield latches on a JLU. Broke one of the latches putting top on for first time. Went to dealer and they are going to warranty the latch at around 100$ per. Seems like a weak point I ordered a second one to have just in case.

I have had my Soft top installed for about 2 weeks. Went on fine and I have had it up and down about a dozen times. Yesterday when I went to put it up the leading edge of the soft top by the windshield seemed a bit further away from the windshield than normal. Went back and checked that everything was where it should be, then dropped the top and put it back up carefully. Still a bigger gap than before but I figured it was just tight since it had been down for a couple of days.

I was able to get the latch in the groove and gently pulled the latch to tighten it and the metal SNAPPED just past the two bolts that secure it to the windshield.

I was able to get the other side latched (it was going to rain) then I had to drive it to work this morning on the highway and had to hold the top down with my hand as it flopped up and down.

I got a service appointment at the dealership tomorrow and we will see what they say.

The one thing that has changed is that previous to this weekend, the top never really locked in place when it was down. I had to strap it down. In looking at videos here I saw how it should stow and pushed it harder down. It didn't really click I felt the top slide into something and it was then securely tight in the down position. Now I am wondering if that screwed something up in the top which caused this issue. I am hoping there is something wrong with the top that they can identify and fix, because I am not feeling confident about the tops longevity at this point.

So I'm at the dealership and I ask about the drooping rear part of the softtop. They tell me that is normal, that they do that after they are used. (It has been on the Jeep for 3 weeks.) He also tells me that there is not much adjustment they can do on the softtop. It is what it is, Is that accurate?

Unfortunately, I believe everything they told you. Normal vs acceptable is the debate, however. In all the JKs I had I never experienced drooping. I think it's just the growing pains of this new soft top design. maybe by MY 2025 they'll finally get it all sorted out and looking good. I don't think there is much, if any adjustments to be made. So yeah, I believe that it is what it is.

I just installed mine last weekend and I'm having a problem where the driver side of the rear window doesn't want to fully seat into the driver side plastic pillar. seems to mate very shallow and pops out when I drive. Probably a trip to the dealer in my future

Do you know if the soft top is adjustable front to back? After I pushed down harder on the top when it was open to get it locked, it no longer closed tight to the windshield gasket.

I don't have too much experience with the JL soft top just yet as I just installed mine. But there must be some fore/aft movement. What I would do is get the front windshield hooked, but not clamped and then install the windows. The go back to the front and clamp it while pushing the header forward. Of course temperature plays a role in this as the warmer it is the easier it would be until the top is properly stretched out. In the past I've found it helpful to install the top and then, with the windows closed, leave the Jeep running with the heater on full blast for a bit to loosen up the material and then clamping the front. (wow that was a massive run-on sentence!)

Thanks for the advice. After almost 2 hours (they did update the PCM, so I'll cut them some slack) they said they had to order the latch at it was on backorder, at least a week. suggested putting a C-Clamp on it until them. Ugh.
Thanks Again.

I just installed my premium softtop for the 1st time. But now I can’t release the 2 latches under the visor to flip back the top. I can release one of the latches but the second one is still under a lot of tension and won’t unlatch. Is it because the top is brand new and needs to stretch or is there something wrong?
