Just like when Riding my Harley, I won't initiate a wave, but if someone else initiates the wave, I will wave back.

I always wave in my TJ (but it's... not close to stock at all), and 'respond' wave in my JL (it's a 'stock' Sport S).

I find I do it in my work vehicles at times, though... at least one of the work vehicles is a Grand Cherokee (but the GMC Acadia and Sierra are a little harder to explain, haha!).

I find about 50% of Wrangler drivers wave back around my area of the country. Some may be just plain ignoring the gesture but many others probably didn't notice my Jeep and/or wave. ?

What I do hate though is when I'm not paying close attention to the vehicles approaching me and I, out of the corner of my eye, see a Wrangler drivers wave just as they go by. ?

I quickly return the wave but chances are great that they never saw my hand try to accomplish a quick wave. They are more than likely complaining about the stupid Wrangler drivers who fail to return their wave. ?

Do yall just stare at every Wrangler windshield you drive by?
Hell yeah. And you gotta make uncomfortable eye contact so if you know they definitely saw you, you can quickly spin that V for Victory wave into a middle finger ?

(haven't actually done that yet and have only had one dude intentionally snub me)

I may miss a wave here or there but I always try to wave back and/or initiate. I found it just nice feeling like I had an "extended Jeep family." My wife loves it too. It makes her smile when people wave to her.

Harley's, Corvettes and now Jeeps. I have waved for so many years, that my shoulder now hurts... :(
When the Camaro came back in 2010, us Camaro folk waved too.

My brother had a Ford Flex and he said his wave when he saw another Flex was to stick his arm out the window and flex.

I told ya. Not being a dic but Women, Tacoma, JTs and XJs are the hip guys. lol

This thread made me chuckle. Up in my area of VA/MD/DC I have noticed a lot of the women do not wave. It's so weird because in other areas I've had no issues.

It does piss me off too when they see you waving and don't return it.

Dang, no wonder I was getting all that unexpected road rage from other Jeepers. I thought everyone was just trying look tough in a Jeep. I was doing it wrong all along.

My 15 year old son recently got his learners permit and we were out for a practice drive a few days ago. He lives for the Jeep wave...its adorable! And then it happened. I knew it was going to, and even saw it coming.... He accidentally waved at an oncoming BRONCO!!! ?‍♀? :surprised:
I nearly climbed over the console trying to grab his hand! I felt like I had failed as a parent. But we talked about it and we're going to be ok now. ;)
Problem child ?

I am all about waving at other Jeeps.

I also find it helpful to see other drivers to try to figure out what their driving intentions are. So one of my pet peeves are people who tint their side windows to the point that I can’t see them.

Yesterday I am sitting first in line at a light when a Rubicon with deeply tinted windows drives across the intersection. I think I faintly see a hand waving inside, but since I can’t really see anything...I just let it go by without waving back. Pity. ?
