Its a individual preference. I try to wave first, but sometimes I miss somebody. My waving started back when I was riding Harley's. Next came along the Corvette's. Now finally the Wranglers. Not everybody waves back. And that is O.K.

I live in Nashville. It seems like every fourth vehicle on the road is a Wrangler. My shoulder is already tore-up from my youth; now a day around town and it takes me three days to get the swelling down. I do like doing the crazy wave though... two fingers just seems like a bit of arrogance. I like the folks that said to just do what you want.

Growing up in a rural area my dad and then later when I could drive, everyone would wave at everyone so I'm a big fan of the wave. I wave at Wranglers and JTs because they are close enough and I even have a friend that bought a JT. (They didn't consult me first.) When I loan my Jeep to anyone, I have a set of rules that they are required to follow. Number 1 is to stay well back from other cars so they don't get the windshield broken and 2 is to wave at other Jeeps. I'm not having my Jeep get a reputation as a non-waving dickhead Jeep. #3 is if they see other Jeeps in the parking lot they have to park next to those Jeeps. I tell them I signed a contract with Jeep and its a requirement.

It was a lot easier back in the old days-nowhere NEAR the number of Jeeps on the road. I wouldn’t stress over it. I try to wave but if I miss one so be it. Too manner real issues in this world to stress over a wave.?

If I notice another Jeep, I wave. If they don't wave back, I assume they didn't see me or are unaware of the wave tradition. No big deal. I fail to wave sometimes, too.

I have to admit I’m not really that fond of the Jeep wave, there’s just too much pressure. Am i dick if i don’t wave? Should I feel bad if we’re in a who will wave first show down and they wave so late I don’t have time to wave back? What if I wave and they don’t reciprocate? Do they think I’m stupid?

It’s so much pressure. Do I, dont I. FUCK they waved and I missed it.
Wow, you are one lazy dude. WTF did you buy a jeep? Should have gotten the Bronco. Didn't realize picking up a few fingers to show common courtesy was such an issue.

I try to wave at all Wranglers, but have noticed Gladiator drivers never EVER wave back, even with plenty of notice. There's too many unmodded JT's in my area, and from the front they look just like a JL, so I have been fooled before.

Question - how do we handle waves when at a very large event (Jeep Invasion with 20K jeeps or even a large jeep jamboree)?
Bikeweek and jeepbeach in Daytona. Unwritten rule: don't bother waiving. Too many damn people. ?
Yeah... driving around Moab (in town) on any day of the year... WAAAYYY too many Jeeps to wave at every one. I stopped bothering very quickly.

I wave at Wranglers, and in my area there are several older Cherokee's that are lifted, beat on with big tires and you just know they wheel it hard.

When my doors are off I wave straight out the side, sometimes with a foot when out on the Island.

I've been waving to Gladiators around my area and noticed the same, but kept waving at them (since you can't tell the difference at first). Actually had a couple finally wave back just the past week!

Was busy keeping my eyes on the road coming out of an intersection and missed waving to another Wrangler this morning. I'm now part of the problem ?
