I said waving was stupid and I'd never do it, that was a lie as I do it all the time lol. Only have a handful that never waved back.

So far for me, 50% don't wave back. 80% in their 40s+ plus wave back, but only a few of the younger drivers wave back. I guess it isn't cool to wave to someone over 30 if you are in your 20s.

I have noticed that one group has yet to wave or wave back at me [not including the rental Wranglers] ... any woman driving.

I do not know what it is, but ~1/2 the guys wave/wave back, most of the rentals do not wave at all [not surprising], and none of the women have waved or waved back.
I have had a total of less than 10 waves and none were initiated by them....I get quite a few double takes, but for the most part guys won't wave (i think they are thinking i want a date or something, which is not the case) and it seems most women are clueless....they look at you like wtf? I don't know you, why are you waving at me?

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
there are a million wranglers in my area. i must see 50 a day. ive gotten the wave TWICE since i bought mine.

my wife's cousin who lives about 75 miles away, out near the desert, says she gets waves all the time in hers.

i guess maybe people in the LA area are to "cool" to wave
Weird, I used to get tons of waves in my YJ.

I feel conflicted every time I see another Wrangler. “Will he think I’m a douche if I wave, or will he think I’m a douche if I don’t?”

I grew up rural, we always waved to everybody-and we stopped if people had problems. I know I no longer always stop-I rarely stop if my family is with me, and while this is probably not politicaly correct here-I rarely stop if I am not carrying. Just a fact of life, too many friends have been mugged rendering aid.

All that said, the Jeep wave has really gotten me jaded. I have always waved a lot while driving (something my wife has called me on from time to time. But since I started driving a Jeep, I have yet to have a Jeep wave back. Most arround here are unlimiteds driven by former soccer moms, which I suspect is part of the problem. Probably calling the kettle black as the Jeep I am driving is my wife’s post minivan vehicle...

I wave at every Wrangler I see on the road
Ditto! Keep the Wave going! I'm new to JEEP, as a brand & the two best things about it are the ENDLESS options/mods and the Wave. NO OTHER BRAND HAS THAT OR THE FOLLOWING THAT JEEP HAS! Be proud. :involve::jk:

I don't wave at another Jeep unless I know the person. Seems just weird to wave at people you don't know so I don't. There has never been a period of my life since I was 16 that I didn't own some kind of Jeep or another, but I don't get why I should wave at someone simply because they are driving the same thing.

It goes with the saying "jeepers help jeepers". If a keeper is broken down on the road, you help them. If a keeper is stuck in mud or sand, you pull them out. A jeep is not just a vehicle, it is a lifestyle.

It's never really bothered me. I know that some if not most people who buy Wranglers now probably don't get it. What he did was absolutely unnecessary, if you don't like it just ignore it but don't be rude. I had a Jeep full of family with me a few weeks ago, they had me distracted while sitting at a stop light, someone from my own local Jeep group passed and apparently got butt hurt I didn't wave back, never mind I never saw them until they were past me, she then took to the group FB page to whine on video about how some people couldn't wave from the comfort of their climate controlled mall crawlers... She deserved the finger, lol. I just find it to be a rather polarizing thing for some people.

I tried to wave, but wranglers are so common I see at least 10 in 30min driving locally in the area.

So, far I think I probably have 5% who wave back.

9 out of 10 around here Jeep wave. There are tons of Wranglers in Wichita, Kansas. Last week I passed 4 Wranglers during the last half mile into my neighborhood.
I was proudly waving, because my Jeep was the only one with the top down. If I have the a/c on, windows up and a topless/doorless Jeep passes by and waves... Oh -- the shame...
I might have to return my Jeep badge... Or I just turn and glance at my wife.:giggle:

I wonder how many accidents are preceded by self-absorbed drivers waving at one another. :stop:

That's funny. Majority of the women in my area don't wave back and I mutter some words under my breath. But now I just simply don't wave to women unless they wave to me first. Nothing against women Wrangler owners. Just the ones in my commute to and from work.
