  1. diesel battery options

I don't think we made 3 years this time. We ordered a 2021 the day orders were started - so I think we took delievery in October. If that is correct, we got 2.5 years. It is a daily driver usually, so sitting should not have caused any discharge. We seem to own a small fleet of vehicles, but...
  2. diesel battery options

I have pulled the main battery, and dug down to the aux to charge. The main battery is a tight fit - not sure how much bigger could be wedged in that little hole. The only "spacer" is the locking wedge.
  3. diesel battery options

Well, apparently all JL's have battery issues, thank you Jeep. We had problems with our JLU, replaced it with a JLURD. (Right now the JLU is having other JL issues - oil cooler, cam shaft, valves - about 1/2 of an engine swap). Since we got the JLURD, we then have virtually never used ESS -...
  4. Horrible Jeep dealer experience...Wells Custom

The part that interested me was that loan companies were also involved. Was he playing games with titles? Finance companies will want the title, and I would bet most will not finance custom work. You said people paid in full, then the only loans should have been working capital.
  5. Do the mild hybrid Jeeps also have an aux batter?

That is kind of what I was hoping. I read elsewhere the 12v handles cold starts while the 48 handles hot starts. Kind of odd to me they would want 2 starter voltages, but if true it should be able to run without the 48v battery and should be a normal jump on the 12v if it was dead.
  6. Do the mild hybrid Jeeps also have an aux batter?

Currious, just experianced the joy of a dead Jeep battery. I fought charging it for 2-3 days and finally chump started it. 15 minutes on my dual battery diesel and still needed my wife to gun the motor to pull it off. Talked to the sales staff at the dealership while waiting for my wife to...
  7. 2019's with ACC EWWWWW

Was at dealership today. All the Dodge vehicles had a decent size thing on the windshield, but Jeep must not want to be outdone, because theirs is 2x as large. Sad, got the mirror off the windshield finally with the JL, only to have them but this eyesore in its place. Fwiw, it is ugliest...
  8. Plastic bumper license plate mounting

It’s a jeep thing. Apparently their margins are so slim the can not afford .99 for license plate anchors. Of course the real problem is people in insignificant states with backward laws that require front plates. (That was satire. But jeep appears to care less about customers obeying local laws)
  9. Adaptive Cruise Control 2019- need report from new owners

I have ACC in my F250. Sensors are mounted behind bumper. It complicated afternarket bumper install. Took dealer months to fix that. Plus every time I splash tree a puddle I risk abscuring the sensor. Bonus point for Ford. If the acc is out, normal cruise is out too Jeeps solution is an eye...
  10. Jumping battery if alone?

Well mine is bricked in my driveway at the moment. Both main and aux are dead and both are registered bad on my smart chargers. 12hrs of trickle and still 6v on the main. Can not even trickle the aux. starter feature on my Schumacher will not start it. Not sure if I will test the booster before...
  11. IF you were buying a new JL and all of the engines were available which one would you get? Why?

If wishes were fishes. To start with, I am posting with a dead 3.6 sitting in my driveway. Besides all batteries dead, suspect the eff relay is what did it in. It is unmodified so Why did it fail spectacularly with a one week sit. So I would like a deleted bulletproofed diesel without eff. If...
  12. Anyone keeping stock? Rubi wheels

Not changing them was one of the reasons I went Rubicon
  13. Did you get the proximity entry feature with your JL?

No because I did not realize it was missing and my wife did the test drive. Dealer refused to return calls and am waiting until the 2019’s are out to unload the mistake. Honestly remote start without proximity? Good marketing, to bad your sales staff care more about selling what is available...
  14. Why did you buy a Jeep with bad steering?

while you may have a steering issue, do some background research before venting. The vast majority of stealing issues were caused by over ininflating tires by the factory. Even for the mechanically challenged, managing tire pressure is kind of a fundamental skill necessary for car ownership...
  15. Daily driver or second vehicle

My wife and I have a small fleet of vehicles it seems. While I intended the JLUR to be a fun vehicle, due to fleet issues it has become my wife’s DD. We took it on a 3k and 2k mile vacations this summer. It turned out more useful than expected. That said, I think we have run down the issue in...
  16. Fridge on OEM battery - impossible?

I recently spent some time with the snowmaster importer (a competing product). He has not been impressed with the rear plug in the Jeep (too much voltage loss). That said, even if it does work, do yourself a favor and give it its own wiring harness. Aux plugs are usually only powered when the...
  17. Jeep wave gone bad

I grew up rural, we always waved to everybody-and we stopped if people had problems. I know I no longer always stop-I rarely stop if my family is with me, and while this is probably not politicaly correct here-I rarely stop if I am not carrying. Just a fact of life, too many friends have been...
  18. Ordered three months ago... Delivered to dealer Friday. They sold it to SOMEONE ELSE on Saturday!

While I suspect that they are trying to be fair, to me the 2 questions are mileage (can the loaner be an adequate summer substitute) and timing (a vehicle ordered today will arrive 3 months before a 2019 might
  19. Ordered three months ago... Delivered to dealer Friday. They sold it to SOMEONE ELSE on Saturday!

Read the fine print of the rental aggreement. Personally I like to do road trips in the summer and the odometer spins like crazy during them. If it is unlimited miles and you can afford the time off, well I don’t need to spell it out. That said limited miles could result in a huge penalty (or a...
  20. Did you know the 2018 Jeep JL Wrangler 3.6 has two batteries.

I am curious when the diesel will get eTorque. Given diesel on my truck was a 8k option (or felt like it). Diesel and eTorque should be a 10k option... Plus my diesel has 2 primary batteries, so that plus’s the ESS and eTorque would be 4 batteries
