So there you go, not just bad strategy by Tavares, but also badly executed. The guy is sipping Pina Coladas right now on his private beach in Hawai’i. People like him should be held liable. Executives should be held more accountable for the sh** they produce. How are we still paying people double-digit million dollar exit packages when they cause so much economic and financial damage?

Stellantis is still shackled to Europe EV schemes, the other 2 not so much.

There seems to be no rhyme or reason to build quality. We can all agree the complexity of modern vehicles are the cause of most gremlins. The only issue I've had in 60k was a CANBUS fault, which I easily fixed myself. I know many are not as lucky. I bought a 2020 new and it was great, even manual. I got the 2022 used, but I specifically looked for an uneventful Carfax and it has not disappointed.
Do I think their prices are too high? Yes. Do I think printing $7 trillion during the pandemic drove up inflation? Yes. A 40% increase in the money supply has screwed everyone except those owning real estate, but there are no real winners in this scenario.

Maybe I’m just lucky but my 2024 V6 Rubicon runs flawlessly
I’m in the Phoenix area now and I see many jeep Wrangler running every day
They’re not all in the garage having their engines removed.
i’ve had no electronics issue. The big screen works flawlessly with Apple play
Have gone over many of Colorados Mt Passes with the JL much smoother ride and better control than in my JK
The JL has been a great experience . Hope I’m not jinxing myself by bragging.

I can't blame it solely on the CEO. CAFE standards have pushed all manufacturers to build engines and vehicles that push the boundaries of the materials and manufacturing processes, instead of beefier ones that are more reliable but get less mpg. Mandates artificially created a market for EVs and hybrids. Manufacturers couldn't avoid being pushed into wasting money on them, even though the technology was iffy and the outlook uncertain. Some went into it with both feet because they believed fossil fuels were going to be banned soon; some didn't believe that and took a measured approach. The thing I do place squarely on the CEO's shoulders was the push to turn Jeep into a luxury brand with luxury pricing to go along with it. Maybe that could have worked eventually but the vehicles didn't match up to the prices.
