My BRAND NEW 4xe wrangler has been in the shop 3 times for the same reason and is still currently there, it’s been about 50 business days and I’m stuck driving around a crap rental car because Jeep will not make a decision to repurchase my vehicle! I feel extremely helpless and you’d think a brand with such deep military roots would help out service members a little bit better. The crazy part is, if they would just buy back my vehicle, I would still buy a gladiator. I feel extremely let down and helpless. Started the lemon law process but they returned my letter to sender. Good thing I have free legal consultation. Only taking to social media/forums because I don’t know how else to grab someone’s attention. My case manager can’t/wont do anything for me. Jeep is going to keep me in limbo. Never felt more undervalued as a customer.

Stick with the process - it’s painful and long, but from what you say you seem to have the law on your side. It took me ~6 months end to end (october ‘22-march ‘23 IIRC), but I got the check for the full amount in the end…

and then I went spend part of it on a used JLU (my current Jeep) that was out of warranty and hoping to never having to interact with Jeep corporate ever again. Very happy I decided to do that FWIW.

Hang in there!

What exactly is wrong with it?

You can always try @JeepCares but, I hear they are more there to listen to you vent rather than actually helping. Hey, @JeepCares remember when you asked us what Jeep could improve on then ghosted us all?

Question... respectfully... why did you have to throw in that they should help out a "service member"? Respectfully, it sounds like a cheap ploy trying to garner sympathy because you were in the "service".
When 3 out of 5 of your family members are in Arlington National Cemetery.... I still wouldn't use the "service member" sympathy. Why does it offend me that you would? Because I also did my tours in Vietnam and asking for sympathy for serving my country is reprehensible.

Cmon man, don’t get offended by someone writing something on an Internet forum. That was such a small part of what he was saying too.

Cool man. “Respectfully”, it SHOULD gain sympathy from a brand with military roots. They’re leaving a member hanging and instead of a p!ssing contest about how many tours you’ve served or how many family members have served, you should probably have your brothers back….. Respectfully of course ? interjecting your opinion was respectfully unnecessary so respectfully scroll on through if you were so offended.

I’m surprised you are in such a situation. In regards to your consultation are they getting involved? Lemon law covers the legal expenses. Typically once lawyers get involved things get moving. Not fast but it gets the process going. I just went through this and got my new JLU last week.

Every couple of weeks the vehicle just decides that it doesn’t want to turn on or go into gear. Every service message imaginable cycles through on the instrument cluster such as “service ABS, service shifted, hoop open unable to charge” and many more. They told me after the first visit that I’m not charging it enough, then the second visit they replaced the 12v battery. And this time they are checking every single connected and wiring harness. It’s been in service for quite some time now. The most frustrating part is I’ve already spoken to an attorney and sent the lemon letter only to have Chrysler Group LLC return my letter to sender.

I have sent the letter but it was returned to sender, so hopefully this week I will get some more legal assistance!

That blows. It’s hard to trust a vehicle after having issues like this right off the line. Hope you can get a new one or into a JT.

What kind of rental vehicle did they put you in?

asking for a friend…
Haha oh boy another adventure in and of itself. I was in a rav4 at first, the most standard package you can think of with a terrible sound system. But whatever, it got me to work and back with decent mileage. Enterprise called me after a few weeks and said since it’s warranty work, I have to be in a Chrysler/jeep/dodge. So I had to go back and it was between an GC L or a charger. Having driven their L the first time my jeep was in repair, I opted for the charger because it was less of a boat that the L. The very next morning, they called me again to tell me that the charger had a recall so I had to bring it back and swap again. They happened to have a wrangler Sahara. I took that and have now been in that for a couple weeks. The only real issue with it is that it’s a clapped out rental so the steering is a little loose haha. But of course it not being MY wrangler with leather seats and LED lighting is kind of lame too considering how much we pay for these vehicles ?

Did you have to take it all the way to arbitration or did they offer you a settlement/buy-back?

Your lawyer should be your first point of contact and be able to help you out.

No lawyers involved. I started a case after the dealership had my vehicle for 30 days. I had a cylinder misfire, they fixed it once then it came back. Got to the point where they decided to replace the engine. First case manager got all the info needed on the vehicle and got me into a rental. Once it was approved they passed me over to the reacquisition team and a new case manager. This started Nov 2023 and I was in the waiting game until April. Surrendered 4/15 got the check and was in a new Jeep 4/16.
