Pretty sure they are alignment line? But I have not had grill and bezel off.

When looking at the headlight. On the inside bottom of the circle/ring there is a red needle. Like a short speedo needle about halfway of the circumference

I'm leaning towards something to do with aligning it.

Looks like it's possibly an alignment tab, to make sure you have the headlights level before button everything up... but then again, you would think they only install in one position allowing for up/down - left/right adjustments, but I have never taken mine out... so not sure.

Although, maybe true, why would there be a horizontal slot for it to move in ? Seems like there is room for it to be located within about a 1" area ?

I've wondered the same thing, but attribute it to styling, nothing functional. While installing (replacing my factory halogens with the LED's) I saw no reference to using these lines for any type of alignment.

I dont doubt... but the tire cover is pointing north, seems the headlights would also
