The coupon code "eagle" will get you 10% off the pre-order price now and free shipping when the bikes ship out in June at quietkat.com
What are the actual jeep ebike specs? I see 750w motor, but nothing on the controller voltage or peak amps. I also don't see any battery specs....

What are the capabilities? For $6k we should hope for something AMAZING!!

Agreed, and I'd ask the same questions about the wheels, shock, forks, crank, bottom bracket...you get the picture. Often, the difference between a $3K bike and a $6K bike are all the things attached to the frame. $6K for an e-bike with excellent components one thing, but $6K for a bike festooned with junk is quite another.

I dont understand why they are being so vague on the specs either. From the pictures and description, Im guessing Wren Inverted fork, Rockshox Monarch rear shock and Deore drivetrain, but there is nothing on the cassette ratio, chain ring teeth count, or brakes other than rotor size.

Thanks. You seem to know these bikes. What do you think of the M2S All Terrain R750 FS bike? On sale for $1600, down from $2200. 5 star average reviews from 187 reviews. https://shop.m2sbikes.com/products/...MIseWWzoj95wIVmBitBh2otAr4EAQYAiABEgKPJPD_BwE
I am not versed in E-bikes (but I do ride regular bikes both MTB and road), so I really cant give you any insight on the motor or battery portion. However as far as the components go, they are lower level parts. 8 speed cassettes and coil spring front suspension are mostly found on budget friendly and entry level mountain bikes.

So the question is whether or not the motor, controls, and battery are worth the asking price as components can be upgraded as they wear out. Hopefully someone who is knowledgeable on those things can chime in and give you a proper answer.

I can't imagine the $6k value is in the motor, controller and/or batteries. Unless FCA decided to completely reinvent these components even though there are many good options already available in the industry. It looks like a nicely integrated mid-drive motor though... Maybe it's one of those crazy expensive feather-light super strong carbon fiber Kevlar etc etc etc frames?

He was asking my opinion on a $1500 E-bike in this link, not the Jeep one.

The Jeep E-bike is specced far more nicely than the one he asked about.

Understand, But the question still remains what about the Jeep ebike justifies the asking price? We really don't know what the ebike specs really are.

Sort of like shopping on the Jeep Wave site, all jeep logo stuff and more, but very low quality. I've made that mistake once. They think you will pay for the NAME only. Doesn't matter the quality. May be a good bike, but worth $6000? I doubt it.

It’s hard to to say. You can get an electric full suspension mountain bike with similar specs for well under $5k.

If we take something like the Trek Powerfly which is $4800 and compare it to the Jeep bike at $6180 (dropper post is standard on the Trek and is a $278 upgrade on the Jeep bike), we have a $1400 difference approximately, use the 10% off coupon and it’s roughly $800.

Now we have some variables to factor.

First does QuietKat have the buying power that large brands like Trek, Specialized, Giant, etc have as far as buying components and frames? Most boutique companies don’t.

Second are they purchasing mass produced frames or building them in house one at a time?

Third are the paying licensing fees to FCA to use the Jeep logo and branding?

So it’s highly possible that with licensing fees and smaller production capabilities it would push the cost up a bit compared to other bike companies.

I’m not seeing an issue with the price personally, however I don’t need a 4” wide tire nor the Jeep logo on my bike so I would opt for a Santa Cruz Heckler or Powerfly instead.
