Cars are most always depreciating assets. The second you drive it off the lot, they lose thousands of dollars in resale value.
Rather than worry about resale value, hold on to your vehicle and enjoy it! Also, dealerships play funny games to make you feel like you’re getting a great deal on...
I get that some folks buy the wrangler for the rubicon brand, but if you like wheeling challenging trails, you need lockers and the ability to disconnect your front anti-sway bar. Otherwise, you simply won’t be able to keep up on the tough trails (e.g., in Moab). It’s a lot cheaper to buy a...
My humble observation is that the Rubicon trim wheels the most. I’ve been to about 10 Jeep Jamborees and probably 2/3 of the jeeps there have been Rubicon trims. I wheel mostly out west, where lockers are needed for crawling, so my observation may be a little different from those on the East Coast.
Lesson Learned - when you take your jeep in for service, do not let the service center perform any additional work beyond what is precisely authorized at the outset. That is, do not let them perform any additional work without getting your written or verbal permission first. In my case, they...
For what it’s worth, my beauty rings are all scratched, scuffed, etc. I don’t worry about the silver paint on those. The nice thing is that they actually protect the black rims, taking all the rock abuse from the trails. These are Jeeps after all. I like my Jeep to look well used.
I completely agree with you. I asked the dealership if they balanced the tires and wheels before or after the rings were reinstalled, and they said the tires were balanced after the rings were reinstalled. I’m dumbfounded as to why they removed the rings in the first place. It makes no sense...
UPDATE - I spoke with two other service centers and they confirmed that you do not remove the beauty rings to replace the tires. Once the beauty rings are installed, you never mess with them again. I believe the original dealership was mistaken, but to their credit, they did not charge me the...
I own a JLU with the Jeep/Mopar simulated bead lock beauty rings. I took the Jeep to a dealership to replace the tires (not to remove the beauty rings) and the dealership charged me for 2 hours of labor extra for removing the beauty rings for the purpose of balancing the tires. This is...

My 2018 Rubicon rear axle sensor failed three times under warranty. I was informed by my local Jeep dealership that FCA finally redesigned the locker system (or, at least, the original sensor) to prevent this from happening again. My Jeep is scheduled to have the rear axle replaced on January...
Where does Jeep state that the frontal area limit is different for boats? This boat in the picture is nowhere close to having a 30 square-feet frontal area. How in good faith can you take that position? I’m curious, are you an employee/agent for FCA?
Again, I believe the boat is enormous...
