Asher living his best life. We got him over the summer only because he was dumped on us while camping. Not sure his life story, but it couldn’t be better than this!

Look here now, I'm from the South, Asher is what we call a good Ol' boy! Y'all found each other for a reason and that reason is: because you needed him as much as he needed you!

It’s a really funny story- we were supposed to free camp that weekend but all the spots were taken so we camped at a state park 2 hours away. Couple days in, this dog showed up at our site but we ignored him and he went on his way many hours later. It was really hard because we were wanting a middle age GSP for several years and we had been looking but were not quite ready b/c DD wasn’t potty trained yet. Then it was dark, making s’mores with the kids and a car pulled up and said they couldn’t take him… it was cold so I took him. The next day had him scanned for chip, and the ranger said dogs get dumped here all the time. We named him Asher because his markings look like ash and he came to us at the campfire.

He’s the absolutely coolest dog ever, as long as you don’t leave him. He has been by my side every minute since mid June. Goes to work with me and all. Still trying to find a solution to leaving him alone.

That's a great story and thank you for sharing it with us. There's not a shred of doubt in my mind, you have given that dog the home and friendship he was looking for and deserves. :please: ?

good on you; thanks for sharing that.

Separation Anxiety can be a real bitch to beat; i wish you and Asher luck in that regard. (we had a Malinois we rescued that taught us about that; required a Metric Buttload of Patience.)

hopefully one day Asher'll be confident and comfortable enough that he'll be able to just enjoy the rest of his time.

Archer was a champ on a long trip out to and around Colorado a couple weeks ago.

Eating snow on top of Ophir Pass. Just too sleepy to get up to do it though.
