Hi all....

Now that I have my Jeep registered to my name and information and it's no longer under the previous owners, I received an email regarding the Jeep app trial.

What does this app do that I can't just find on my own on my 2021 Unlimited? It's gas fuel, no hybrid, so I'm not clear on what the advantage would be to try it....when I called their number to get more information, they just kept pushing me to put a CC down to try it out without a clear explanation as to what exactly I'd be paying for once the trial period is over as a gas vehicle only.

Does anyone use it or have experience with using it in a useful way?

IT shows location and remote start via WiFi….so if it was outside fob range…other than that I can’t recall.

You can also lock and unlock the doors via the app on your phone or smart watch , and see if it’s locked etc if you don’t remember lol , I find it useful but my trial is up and they want to charge me 15 a month , not worth it and pisses me off to no end , these features should be free on a new vehicle. They are on ford and Chevy

You can do all key fob functions from anywhere as long as you have signal or wifi, it gives you a health report, any recalls, your owners manual, and location. If you have kids that will be driving you can setup a boundary and speed alert. If you use valet parking you can set up an alert for that as well. There are other little things like scheduling an appointment with service. I keep it on my Jeep so I don't have to wait for the engine to warm up before I leave. I won't drive till coolant and oil is over 150.

On Chevy they are only free for a month unless you buy Onstar. They did just change to 8 years on the 2025 Models. GMC was 3 years and now 8, but it's not free. They are charging you for it on the price of the vehicle, which Jeep is too, but they don't charge enough to give it to us for that long. Used to be free for a year. The cost is relative to what you find important. Some people won't pay for it, but will spend $7 a day at Starbucks, or $8 a day on smokes. I pay the $24 a month for it and the guardian. Makes me feel safe if something bad happens.

Not worth paying for. You need to be in a Wi-Fi network for it to work (actually I haven't tried via mobile network because I don't have service at my home and if I am in my Jeep out an about where I do have cell service there is no need for this app).

Like others have said, and in addition:
  • Lock and unlock
  • Remote Start
  • You can turn on panic horn
  • Jeep Wave benefits
    • Link to Dealer, including go to dealer button (in case you get lost)
    • Services left on Wave
    • Service History
    • Recalls
  • Shows how much gas you have, mileage left on current tank
  • Shows where it is on a map - I guess helpful if stolen, or to see where your teenager is?
  • Vehicle health report (any errors and fluids, settings stuff)
    • Tire Pressure
    • Odometer reading
    • Oil life remaining
  • Driver Alerts (again - for those that let their kid take it?)
    • Speed
    • Curfew
    • Boundary
    • Valet Mode
  • Service and Dealer search
  • Assistance menu
    • Jeep Customer care
    • UConnect care
    • Roadside Assistance
    • Find a collision repair shop
The only thing I have used it for is remote start from my home where I have Wi-Fi. That is when I am too lazy to walk to my purse and use my FOB since I always have my phone handy. Mine came with new purchase, and was supposed to expire but hasn't.

Definitely NOT worth paying for IMO.

just pisses me off because it’s a 45K vehicle in the lock unlock is super convenient when a mountain biking or hiking to be able to lock my keys up in the jeep
