It's been a few weeks since I bought her. What's been done thus far...

Removed hardtop (stowed in garage) put on soft top.
Wheels n Tires (decided on the chrome wheels).
Tinted windshield (silver) and front side doors (20% black).
Automatic electric step rails (raise/lower when the doors close/open).
Spare tire tailgate mount to compensate for the larger tire.
Bad a$$ alarm, no details

Still to do...
Upgrade the stereo.

Spray the mirrors, tail light mounts, n door handles to color match (a weekend project). And maybe the bumpers?
Apply a ceramic coating.

Finally got around to spraying the DV8 half doors to match the inner fenders, had em boxed in my livingroom for like 2 months.... Some of the pics don't have the screen mesh installed, i.e. the pic with my dog (Joleen, aka JoJo). I had just put them on for the first time. I wanted to see what they looked like and it was just easier to align the doors without the mesh.

Ultimately I prefer the mesh, it helps keep things from flying off the seat and into the street. This the main reason I didn't get the rock doors or roll bar doors. Also wanted to keep the door interior black, so lots of taping was involved.

Lots of prep work, started with removing any burrs. These are stamped aluminum doors so there were some sharper areas, nothing bad though, just want everything smooth and paint sticks to rounded out areas vs. tight 90* angle stamping cuts. Then the etching primer, regular primer, sanding, priming again, spraying color & clear. Wet sanding, cutting compound & polishing...

If I were to do it all again, I'd do some things different. Good enough for now though.

Quick question. How do those auto steps work with the doors off?

Great Question! They don't. Yet.

To fix that, along with the dome light coming on and the alarm going off if someone opens the door...

I purchased some micro reed switches & magnets. ~$20. I'm going to tap into the door(s) sensor wires on the vehicle side door harness. I'll attach T taps and run a very small wire (2 wires) from the harness wires to somewhere near the lower door hinge. The micro magnets will be glued on the doors in the same area opposing spot, in an inconspicuous area. These switches are so small they will not interfere with the factory doors when putting them back on.

Whenever I remove my factory doors (and unplug the Jeep's door harness obviously) I'll be able to put the half doors on and no plugging into anything is required. They should just work.

Curious how you fastened these after removing the pins?

I ordered them right from the dealer like back in June. There are two different part numbers, one for the left the other is for the right side of the hood. The pins on the back align differently for each side which I didn't know so my right emblem was on back-order for months when I could of just ordered two left side emblems. I ended up cutting the pins off the back anyways....

Hold down the Right arrow button and then one of the 3 quick set button options (cruise up, cruise down, and the right one (don’t remember it off hand). When you press one of those (still holding the Right arrow with your left hand), it will let you scroll through the available quick set options (and TurnAssist is one of those). Once it is set, as long as cruise control is off, press the button you just programed and you will see it say it’s on. Then once you turn full lock to either side, you will hear the ABS pump going crazy trying to hold the corresponding tire still.
