These are solid gold (for the most part). Keep em coming.
I have updated the original post, have taken artistic license with some and not included others...well, because it is my post and I can. :jk:
Matt, my apologies if I have contributed too much. I have put a LOT of time into research on the steering subject; I have driven hundreds of different vehicles in my lifetime - huge, tiny, IFS, live axle, aquatic, military, civilian. In the military your life relies on your vehicle; understanding it, fixing it, maintaining it, safeguarding it, driving it in every imaginable condition to its engineering limits, hopefully without breaking it.

True and WHEN you lower the air pressure down to the lower 30's, you'll increase the FLEXIBILITY OF THE SIDEWALLS and allow the tires to FORGIVE most of the slight irregularities of the road and that will make for BETTER STEERING/LESS WANDER !

WTF?!? Did you just apologize?? Never apologize, never!! mumbles "gonna' take your damn man card"....
No worries Jeff. This forum relies on experience such as yours to educate the rookies. I concur that a lot of perceived steering issues are simply user experience. However, although my Jolene drives straight and true, I have to assume due to sheer volume that there are indeed JLs with very real steering issues. Like you, I driven all manner of wheeled vehicles from high ends sports cars, to deuce and a halfs, to pan scrapers, and even fire trucks so my tolerance for mechanical input and feedback is pretty broad.
 Beers to ya!

No dear daughter, the Jeep will not spontaneously roll over just because your dear daughters - my dear granddaughters - are strapped in the rear seats. Not unless the driver is an idiot which I am not. Otherwise you would be the daughter of an idiot and subject to the same disease - which you are not.

If you have never driven a vehicle with two solid, live axles, understand that driver feedback is quite different, understand that the pitman-arm-equipped vehicles have a small “dead spot,” and DO RESEARCH AND TEST DRIVE to understand these differences before purchasing a Jeep and then bitching about how it steers.

Also know that when you drop the air pressure of your tires below recommended limit to increase your contact with the road, the sidewalls soften up, resulting in the feel of a larger dead spot.

Jeeps are designed to have more body-roll over bumps. Learn not to over-correct your steering; the “seat of the pants” feel is different. Most of the time with minor bumps your vehicle WILL track straight, without steering correction, as your Jeep body-rolls over a bump.

Jeeps are higher performance vehicles, requiring higher performance driving.
Totally agree. Well, perhaps not totally. I hear the terms "solid axle" and "live axle" used interchangeably on this forum, but to my recollection, the jeep has solid axles, not live axles. A live axle is a drive axle that lacks a differential. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Get a quality roof rack.

On this note.

Never attempt an obstacle that you are not comfortable with. It isn't worth destroying your Jeep.
