As a DIY mechanic this is my first time changing engine mounts and I just can’t seem to slide it out.

The only videos online is a youtube short, and alldata was only helpful up until this point

It’s the left engine mount and I’ve gotten all the bolts off, and I got the bolts off the bracket pictured to the right of the mount on the 2nd pic. Everything is loose but I still can’t get it out. It won’t fit.

This is my JLU sport 2.0 engine.

pic 3 is the new mount for reference.

I'm assuming the stud that's on the top of the mount here must go through a hole on a bracket in the engine block. If you were able to get the nut removed and the stud is what is hanging it up, you could try loosening the passenger side engine mount bolts and putting a block of wood on a floor jack to raise the engine a bit. That might give the clearance you need, just watch the exhaust and any wiring that might get pinched.

Right now the stud is in but at one point I did get it out, it still didn’t want to slide out though.

How much are you jacking the engine up?

A little bit. Online it said to only support the drivetrain, I tried that at first but there was no room.

I’ve jacked the engine up a little more, not sure how much but I feel like it could go higher, I’m just hesitant to do that since I’m new to this. How far can I get away with?

How did this end? Were you successful in replacing the engine mount? I have leaks on both so need to see if doable in garage or going to need to take to a shop.
